Chapter 422 - Chapter 422: Repositioning Pieces

As for sending Kingpin to prison… don't be ridiculous. Kingpin is a well-known philanthropist on the surface, while Luke Cage has a long criminal record. If he were to push for prison time, who would actually end up behind bars?

No, there's no doubt the one imprisoned would be Luke himself. Thinking of this, Luke Cage blinked and immediately shut his mouth.

Shin then pointed at Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver and said to Kingpin, "You'll get them legal American identities. The shares and board positions will be handed over to them when the time comes."

Shin didn't dare guarantee how long he'd remain in this world, so the best course was to designate a spokesperson.

Although Scarlet Witch knew nothing about business operations, relying on her ability to manipulate probability ensured she wouldn't lose money.

Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver, who had initially criticized Shin's strong-arm tactics, were stunned. They didn't expect the pie to fall into their laps in the end.

"Wait… this…" Just as the siblings were about to protest, Shin rolled his eyes and interrupted, "Do you two have any way to make money? Don't tell me, Quicksilver, are you seriously going to become a delivery boy?"

"Uh…" Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch were speechless. While they weren't entirely lacking in life skills, they had never received higher education or held proper jobs.

More accurately, they had relied on their powers to scrape by in the streets. Sokovia wasn't exactly a land of opportunities.

This was also why they hadn't strongly objected to Shin's methods. Though they had their doubts, they didn't truly view themselves as superheroes.

"But… this should belong to you…" Scarlet Witch hesitated, but Shin shook his head.

"My identity isn't exactly stable. I'll be leaving Earth frequently in the future, so I don't have the time or energy to manage these things," he said.

"Besides, as the Scarlet Witch, you can manipulate probability and reality. With that ability, you're guaranteed to profit. You're far more reliable than me."

Shin believed that at least in the short term, the siblings wouldn't pose any issues. As for the long term… he didn't plan to stay in the Marvel world that long anyway. Who knows, maybe the Earth would explode, or the universe would reboot thanks to some ridiculous cosmic event.

If I'm not confident enough, I shouldn't be taking on responsibility. After all, in the Marvel universe, anything can happen.

Though Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver felt uneasy about the unexpected windfall, they ultimately accepted it after some persuasion.

As for the remaining members of the Hand and various supervillains, Shin had captured them all.

Send them to prison? That thought never crossed his mind. Instead, he cast illusions on each of them and made them work for him until death.

It just so happened that with Kingpin's forces diminished, Shin could use the Hand to fill the gap.

Although the Hand looked like a typical criminal organization, that was just a front, their true nature was cultic. Robbing banks and peddling illicit goods was more for show and occasional funding than their actual goal.

After taking control of the Hand's five leaders, Shin dispersed their subordinates and forbade any further involvement in underworld industries. He made them his direct agents.

Anyway, we're all rich now. No need for shady side hustles. In layman's terms... time to go legit.

After sorting through the spoils of his latest operation, Shin realized he had quietly accumulated considerable influence.

Oddly enough, Jessica Jones had joined the group, seemingly comforted by Scarlet Witch's ability.

In truth, Jessica's physical capabilities weren't weak. She had super strength, invulnerability, and even flight. Her power level on paper could surpass Spider-Man's, but her poor mental state holds her back.

Her abilities were enough to place her in the second tier of heroes. With effort, she might even edge into the first.

Unfortunately, no matter how powerful she was, her mental state dragged her down. In a real fight, she'd be overwhelmed by more strong-willed heroes like Captain America or Black Panther.

Shin didn't know how she had performed in the past, but after being manipulated by the Purple Man, she could barely tap into half of her potential.

Luckily, Scarlet Witch seemed to have helped her with chaos magic, and Jessica now trusted her enough to join the group and even bring her own resources.

Scarlet Witch was strong, but as a sorcerer, having a tank was always a practical choice.

As for the other two... Sandman and Venom they were easy to manage.

Sandman had a gravely ill daughter, and his criminal activities stemmed from desperation. Shin's organization wasn't as rich as Stark Industries, but the money needed to treat her illness was nothing to them.

Upon further investigation, Shin confirmed that Venom was more of an anti-hero than a villain. He sliced off a portion of the symbiote to send to the lab for research and then let the rest go with its somewhat dimwitted host, Eddie Brock.

As for Black Sky host Elektra, she was sent to Kamar-Taj.

The Sorcerer Supreme loved 'negotiating' with dimensional invaders.

Black Sky, who hailed from some unknown realm, was easily subdued and turned into experimental material.

Ironically, the incident became a blessing in disguise. Though the Black Sky entity was removed, Elektra's physical enhancements remained. She now qualified as a superpowered individual.

Originally a skilled martial artist, she was now further enhanced… but in this world of freaks and monsters, her upgrade was minor. It couldn't even compare to the super soldier serum that made Captain America.

In this universe, unless your power levels are absurd, you're just another guy with muscles.

Afterward, Shin dropped the unconscious Elektra off at a hospital. The rest was no longer his concern.

However, the presence of Sandman and Venom reminded him of something. He checked in on Peter Parker and sensed a surge in the boy's life force, clear evidence he had become Spider-Man.

"With Spider-Man on the scene, it seems like the age of superheroes is just beginning."
