Chapter 65 - CHAPTER 64: The end of Terragrigia

After hearing Clive's introduction, everyone looked at Javier, who nodded indifferently. Morgan knew the BSAA very well—Chris should be the strongest among them.

Suddenly, the building's alarm system went off. Morgan glanced at the monitor and said, "A bioweapon has entered the building. The security door on this floor must be closed. Parker and Jessica, go ahead. Raymond is injured, he'll stay with me."

"Javier, go help. We'll meet on the roof. Remember to hurry—this place will be destroyed soon," Clive added.

After receiving the order, Javier, Jessica, and Parker left the control room, while Morgan and the others made their way to the roof.

As they exited into the corridor, they reached the hallway of that floor. At that moment, more than a dozen Hunters were there.

"You cover me, I'll take care of them," Javier said. Then, under the stunned gaze of the other two, he leapt down the stairs, holding his Desert Eagle in one hand and a combat knife in the other.

As soon as the bioweapons below saw Javier descending, they all attacked at once. Javier dodged their strikes while counterattacking relentlessly.

A few minutes later, all the Hunters had been eliminated. Looking at the bodies scattered across the floor, Parker and Jessica realized just how powerful Javier was.

Jessica still looked as sweet and innocent as ever. As she watched Javier, her heart felt warm, but she said nothing. After all, Parker was still there.

After dealing with the Hunters, the three sealed off the safe passage. Now, only the three of them remained in the building. "Let's get to the roof and get out of here," Parker said.

The trio ran toward the rooftop. When they arrived, a helicopter was already waiting. Once they boarded, it immediately took off.

From the helicopter, Javier saw other helicopters evacuating civilians and numerous ships departing from the coastline below.

Suddenly, the sky lit up with a blinding white light. It was the solar array satellite in orbit—beginning its attack on the city.

In that instant, the entire city turned white, and the bioweapons below were reduced to dust. The devastating power of the weapon was unimaginable.

Soon, the entire city began to collapse. Buildings crumbled, the ground cracked, and the city started sinking into the sea. "Terragrigia is gone," Parker said solemnly as he watched the destruction unfold.

Jessica leaned against the door, looking down. "We came to help, but there was nothing we could do." Though the destruction of the city ended the crisis, it had claimed countless lives.

The helicopter landed at a temporary camp nearby. Parker and Jessica went to report to Morgan, while Javier wandered around, and Jill was busy organizing accommodations for the refugees.

It was there that Javier met Claire. As it turned out, she had joined the non-governmental organization TerraSave. Watching her comfort the victims, he could tell she had matured a lot.

Claire looked up and saw Javier. She happily walked over to greet him, but Javier stepped forward and hugged her, catching her off guard.

"It's been a long time, Claire," Javier said as he let go. "You seem so excited. I never thought our relationship would reach this point." He smiled.

Claire coughed, trying to ease the awkwardness. "Why did you join the BSAA? And where's my brother?" she asked, glancing at the logo on Javier's arm.

"I joined recently. I just want to help more people and completely eliminate the virus. Chris isn't here—he's on a mission elsewhere," Javier replied seriously.

To her surprise, Javier shared the same ideals as she did. That made Claire genuinely happy. After a bit of small talk, one of her colleagues called her over.

From a distance, Javier saw Claire speaking with a man. The man looked back at him with unmistakable hostility, and Javier recognized him immediately.

Neil Fisher—one of TerraSave's top leaders. He had a thing for Claire. He had seen Javier hugging her earlier and clearly held a grudge.

Neil was a big supporter of Morgan's methods. Someone like that could never win Claire's heart. Javier wasn't worried.

"Aren't you afraid Chris will beat you up?" a familiar voice teased from behind.

Javier turned to see Jill standing there with a playful smirk. She had seen him hugging Claire.

"We hadn't seen each other in so long. I was just excited," Javier said.

Jill smiled. "Clive called everyone to regroup. TerraSave's taking over now, and we have to go."

After Jill left, all the BSAA members departed by helicopter. With the city in ruins, the FBC declared the operation a success and claimed that the terrorist group Veltro had been completely eradicated. The remains of Terragrigia were quarantined by the FBC.

With the incident over, Javier and the others went on vacation. Javier used the opportunity to spend time with Jill. By the time Chris returned to headquarters, the two had already left together.

Chris later learned about Javier's relationship with his sister through others. Now, knowing Javier had also taken Jill with him, Chris was fuming.

Unaware of this, Javier took Jill to his villa, where they spent several days together. Jill wasn't interested in marriage at the moment, so she simply enjoyed being with Javier.

When their vacation ended and they returned to HQ, Clive summoned them to his office. There, they found an unexpected visitor—Secretary of Defense Wilson.

"Javier, long time no see," Wilson greeted him with a smile. As he spoke, he extended his hand, and Javier shook it.

"I didn't expect to see you here, Mr. Secretary," Javier said in surprise.

"Javier, the Secretary came here specifically to see you," Clive added before picking up Jill and leaving the room to give them privacy.

Wilson handed a photo to Javier. Looking at it, Javier saw a young blonde woman, who looked like she was still a college student.

"Hmph. If you really want to be useful, then entertain me, try to throw those pathetic power stones at me. Let's see if even your insolence can amuse a king."
