Chapter 84 - CHAPTER 82: Vacation with Claire

Javier sat between Claire and Jill, wrapped his arms around their waists, turned his head, and looked at Claire.

"Tell me, what do you want from me? You didn't come here for no reason. You're not here to ask for sponsorship again, are you? Didn't I donate 10 million to your NGO last time?"

Claire rolled her eyes at Javier and said,

"You think I came all the way here just to ask you for money? Who do you think I am? Hmph," Claire said angrily.

"It's all because of my love rival, Neil. I donated money to you, yet that guy still looks at me like I'm his enemy," Javier said with disdain.

Seeing Javier's jealous expression, Claire smiled and kissed him on the cheek.

"Neil is just my coworker and boss. Although he's interested in me, I don't like him one bit. Don't worry."

Javier laughed when he heard that and kissed Claire.

"That's the Claire I like. No wonder I love you."

Claire and Jill also laughed.

"I want you to come with me to Harvardville. I'm going there for an interview and to take a vacation. Want to come with me? If not, Neil will," Claire said, winking.

Wasn't this just like a honeymoon? How could Javier pass up something so good?

"Of course, I'll be your assistant and also make sure you're safe. Let Neil take a break," Javier said righteously.

The three had lunch together, and Claire left afterward because she had something else to do. They would leave in two days, and Jill's vacation had come to an end. Javier originally wanted Jill to stay and not return to the BSAA, but Jill refused.

Two days later, Claire arrived at the mansion and took a car to the airport with Javier. They boarded a plane. On the plane, Claire was still busy with her work while Javier fell asleep from boredom.

Javier didn't know how long he had slept until Claire woke him up. Turns out they had arrived.

"We're here, someone's coming to pick us up," she said and got off the plane with Javier.

Claire walked ahead with empty hands, while Javier carried her suitcase and had her bag hanging around his neck. Claire looked at Javier and laughed. Javier could only smile bitterly and shake his head.

His own luggage had been stored in his inventory. He had originally wanted to put Claire's luggage there too, but she refused. Her reason was that it would ruin the fun of traveling. Apparently, Claire's idea of fun was laughing at him.

The two walked off the tarmac and headed into the waiting area. As soon as Claire entered, she looked around searching for someone.

"Claire, over here." Claire walked over cheerfully when she saw the person approaching.

Javier dragged the luggage and followed behind slowly. The person who came to pick up Claire was a woman who looked Middle Eastern, and there was a little girl standing beside her.

Claire approached and the two hugged.

"It's been so long. You look gorgeous," Claire said to the woman.

The woman looked at Claire and joked,

"You look exhausted."

"It's all my boyfriend's fault. He's been giving me too much work."

Javier heard Claire's words from behind and claimed he was innocent. It was Claire who always took advantage of him. The reason was that they hadn't seen each other in a long time, and he wanted to make up for lost time all at once.

"Boyfriend? That man you mentioned, the big shot at the BSAA?" the woman asked.

Claire nodded.

"That's him, but he's not with the BSAA anymore. After getting beaten up by my brother, he got scared and quit."

Javier rolled his eyes when he heard Claire's words. He was already planning to teach Claire a lesson when they got to the hotel.

"By the way, let me introduce him. This is my boyfriend."

Claire suddenly remembered Javier was behind her. Javier stepped forward and greeted the woman with a smile.

"Auntie, I'm tired," said the little girl beside the woman, tugging at her arm.

"I'm sorry, wait here, I'll go bring the car around."

The woman looked at Claire and said,

"Can you help take care of Rani? I'll be right back."

Claire nodded and the woman left the airport. Claire looked at the girl and said,

"Alright, let's get to know each other." Claire reached out her hand.

"Hi, my name is Claire Redfield."

Rani reached out and shook Claire's hand.

"Hi, my name is Rani Chawla."

"Nice to meet you, Rani. You have a beautiful name," Claire said with a smile.

"My name is Javier Lee," Javier said with a smile.

"You're the boyfriend who won't let Claire sleep?"

Javier started coughing when he heard that.

Claire also laughed. Javier glared at Claire.

As the three of them chatted and laughed, a bioterror crisis occurred on another plane.

They were sitting in the hallway, watching the news on a screen. People were staging a protest, apparently just outside the airport. It was a demonstration against the construction of a factory by WilPharma in the area. Protesters were worried that what happened in Raccoon City could happen again.

"You work at TerraSave too?" Rani asked Claire.

"Of course. Your aunt and I are coworkers," Claire replied cheerfully.

"I really like everyone at TerraSave, they're all so nice," Rani said with admiration.

"And you're from the BSAA, a specialist in fighting bad guys, right?" Rani asked Javier.

"Absolutely. No bad guy can withstand my punch," Javier said, clenching his fist.

"Then can you punch that bad guy?" Rani pointed at the screen.

Javier looked and saw that the person being criticized was Congressman Davis. The man was fat, had large ears, and a sinister, crafty face. At first glance, he didn't look like a good person. He was also a consultant for WilPharma, which funded all of his political activities.

At that time, the man was being interviewed by a reporter who questioned him about human experimentation. The reason Rani had been orphaned was because her parents had died in WilPharma's clinical trials.

When asked the question, Davis replied:

"Maybe Halloween will come to India sooner than in the U.S."

Then he walked away arrogantly.

"That guy looks super arrogant. I hope his fate ends up matching his sense of humor," Javier said, turning his eyes away from the screen.

"I really don't get American humor," said a man in a suit and glasses sitting next to them.

"Hmph. If you really want to be useful, then entertain me, try to throw those pathetic power stones at me. Let's see if even your insolence can amuse a king."
