After walking out of the hall, Michelle followed Vincent to her courtyard. Once there, they sat down at a stone table, and she locked her gaze on him.
"Father, why does the family head not take me as his granddaughter? Why is Amelia considered his only granddaughter?" she asked with a frown. If she wanted to stage as Ana, she needed to know details like that, even if she was to keep her presence minimal.
Vincent understood Michelle had to know all that. "You aren't his granddaughter, did you forget?" he spoke in a way that would seem strange to a person who knew what was going on. It was so that if someone was listening, they wouldn't find out that Michelle wasn't Ana. "My daughter, did you forget parts of your memories? You are adopted."
"I am?" Michelle knew why Vincent was speaking like that, so she went along with the act and put on a surprised expression. Touching her forehead, she acted like she really didn't remember.
