Chapter 265 - Chapter 265: The Continued Northern Campaign

At the edge of the Celestial Ascension System, a massive space battle was underway. With thirteen fleets engaged on both sides, even Feng Mo found it hard to believe that the Si Family, a single aristocratic family, could wield such power until he saw the broadcast. Initially, they had gathered four quasi-T6 fleets and sixteen T5 fleets. Now, in a battle against the Yue and Qiao Families, the Si Family had managed to amass seven fleets, including two quasi-T6 fleets.

The family was indeed formidable, but against Feng Mo, even the most powerful family was destined to fall.

The T6-class radar system, with its superior range and precision, offered a clear advantage over T5-class ships. Ai Er, seated in the captain's chair of the Lushu, reviewed the radar-generated image of the seven enemy fleets and calmly issued orders:

"Mello, move ten T5 Mystic Birds to the optimal bombing coordinates I've marked. Five T5 Pegasi, synchronize with Lushu's radar and lock onto the enemy fleet. Initiate the first wave of missile fire!"

"Lushu, deploy all unmanned drones. Lock onto the enemy fleet for suicide strikes. Prepare the starfighter squadron."

At Ai Er's command, ten thousand missiles launched, leaving bright trails like meteor showers as they hurtled toward the enemy fleet, closely followed by three thousand drones.

Ai Er hadn't deployed the starfighters immediately because every use of swarm drones by the fighters imposed a huge cost on the Storm Empire's resources—fifty thousand miniature tracking missiles per assault. Each attack's cost was equivalent to constructing ten Windgod-class ships, making this an expensive strategy. In battle, artillery fire comes with a price.

With the enemy's fleet totaling only seven formations—around twenty-five hundred ships—the drones and missiles from the ten T5 Mystic Birds were deemed sufficient.

No matter the situation, ten thousand was a considerable scale. The vast wave of missiles exploded like fireworks over the enemy fleet, covering all seven of their formations.

The enemy fleet reacted swiftly, scanning the missiles' trajectories and calculating optimal interception points. Close-range defensive cannons roared as they unleashed a wall of fire.

Although most of the ten thousand T5 missiles were intercepted, a few managed to impact the enemy's shields, creating ripples. Following that, the assault by three thousand drones with laser cannons and manufactured missiles inflicted heavy damage on the enemy's ships.

The T6 drones' laser cannons were difficult to intercept, and the missiles they fired were faster, with more complex trajectories. Although calculated by the AI, the close-range defensive cannons were still in cooldown from the previous barrage.

This allowed the lasers and missiles to breach the enemy shields, accompanied by thunderous explosions that only the crew inside the impacted ships could hear.

Many enemy ships ignited into blazing fireballs, visible on Feng Mo's broadcast as the red dots representing the enemy fleet rapidly blinked out.

The destruction left the enemy fleet's firepower severely diminished, giving Mello a perfect opportunity for a follow-up strike. After reaching optimal bombing points, the ten T5 Mystic Birds unleashed their payload, further devastating the enemy formations.

Meanwhile, allied fleets from the Yue and Qiao Families launched their own offensive with star-annihilation cannons, primary, and auxiliary batteries. Blasts of light struck the enemy ships, inflicting even more destruction.

By this point, Feng Mo already knew the outcome. Despite the enemy fleet's numerical advantage, they lacked advanced specialty ships. Their stealth bombers had been destroyed in previous engagements, and only a few missile carriers remained.

When it came to conventional ships, the value of the specialty vessels Feng Mo had lent to the Yue and Qiao Families became evident, especially the Lushu. This carrier had become the Storm Fleet's ace T6 vessel in large-scale space battles.

Though Lushu's single-point firepower wasn't overwhelming, its wide attack range was crucial in major battles, surpassing even the capabilities of the Battle Planet. However, it lacked the all-encompassing offensive capabilities of the Battle Planet.

Feng Mo's mind had already moved on from the battle at the Celestial Ascension Fleet. As he gazed at the radar scan of Celestial Ascension Prime, he saw an ideal capital base and the Federation's highest-class life planet.

A Class-4 life planet, and one located in the Federation's center. While the Leaving Desolation Region also contained one, the Celestial Ascension Prime was superior. If one were to subdivide the Class-4 planets, the Demon Prime was lower-tier, while Celestial Ascension Prime was higher-tier.

The difference between the two was clear, and Feng Mo had already decided: this would be the capital of the Storm Empire, the core of the Storm Alliance.

The battle concluded in an hour as the Si Family raised the white flag—a surprising turn. Feng Mo had expected them to choose noble defiance over submission.

However, Feng Mo refused to accept their surrender. While he had some attachment to the Federation, it no longer held sway. The Federation was gone, and whatever contributions the Si Family had made were nullified. They had stood against him, and no amount of prior service could redeem them in Feng Mo's eyes. This family's resilience and powerful genetics had allowed them to repeatedly assume the Federation's leadership, proving they were a force to be reckoned with.

These were reasons enough for Feng Mo to eradicate them. Leaving any threat uneliminated was not an option, and he already had his executioners in mind: the newly defected factions. Feng Mo was certain that, in their eagerness to curry favor with the victorious side, these turncoats would eagerly eliminate the Si Family and its allies.

After all, they had been part of the same coalition, and they knew the Si Family better than Feng Mo himself. In this world of nobility and family ties, there were few secrets. Feng Mo would only need to accept the results.

Instructing Xing Shuwen to relay his orders to the Yue and Qiao Families, Feng Mo ordered the logistics fleet to take charge. Meanwhile, the Storm Alliance Fleet would withdraw for resupply and prepare to march on the Eastern War Zone.

Feng Mo's resolve to unify the Federation was unwavering, and after three hours of resupply and battlefield cleanup, the Storm Alliance Fleet set forth once more. The territories of the Celestial Ascension System and much of the Central War Zone were left in the hands of the Glory, Chu, Yue, and Qiao Families, who would handle administration until Feng Mo returned to assume control.

The Pan-Human Alliance consisted of five eastern empires and the Beastman Star Race—a formidable force. However, following successive battles, their strength was at its lowest in recorded history.

With the Storm Alliance Fleet riding high on morale, Feng Mo was confident they could bring the entire Eastern War Z

one into the Storm Empire's territory in a single campaign.
