Chapter 4 - Isha (E-sha)

Stepping onto that plane turned out to be quite the challenging adventure for Shanelle Georgia. After all the anxious moments, her lovely black curly hair was a bit tangled from the journey, and her worries about a possible crash had her on edge.

The food didn't quite meet her expectations, and being her first flight, she felt a bit let down by how different it was from what she'd envisioned.

She had been dreaming of the flight attendant's voice sounding like an angel's, the seat being as cosy as a cloud, enjoying a gourmet five-star meal, catching the latest movies, and of course, soaking in a breathtaking view.

After spending hours watching experiences of flying, Shanelle hoped that at least one thing would go well. Unfortunately, her luck didn't turn out that way; nothing seemed to go as planned.

The flight attendant's voice was a bit rough, the seats felt quite hard, the food was less than appetizing, the movie selections were older films, and all she could see outside was a gloomy grey sky as the rain poured down.

All Shanelle wanted was to arrive at her new school and catch up on some much-needed rest. She hoped her roommates would be kind and welcoming.

However, she was unsure how to get to the school and needed to find the bus first. Spotting a lady in the airline's uniform, she decided to ask for help.

"Excuse me, I'm headed to Gretians Boarding School. I need to grab my suitcases, then find the bus, but I'm unsure where to go," Shanelle kindly explained.

"Just go left, then walk all the way down until you see a purple mat, and then turn right until you reach a brown double door," the attendant instructed.

"Thanks!" Shanelle couldn't help but notice the attendant seemed a bit tired, as if she had repeated this so many times before.

Shanelle shrugged it off and made her way, following the directions to the purple mat and then to the double door. To her surprise, she managed to follow the instructions perfectly for the first time in ages!

Pushing open the doors, she was unexpectedly knocked to the ground by what felt like a mountain of suitcases.

"Hey, are you okay?" A girl with a lovely shade of dark hair, longer than Shanelle's but less curly, asked. She had a bright demeanor that stood out, average in height, yet with a striking presence, and her fresh face was lovely without makeup.

Shanelle was about to respond when the girl continued, speaking quickly.

"Sorry! I've been a bit stressed lately with getting to Gretians and everything, and I didn't even see you there. I was just so focused, and I'm really sorry my suitcases bumped into you!" She explained, her strong British accent shining through as she hurriedly apologized.

Realizing Shanelle was still on the ground, the girl gracefully extended her hand, and Shanelle gratefully took it as she was helped up.

"Hi, I'm Isha," the girl introduced herself.

"Hello, I'm Shanelle. It's nice to meet you, Isha!" Shanelle started to say before Isha chimed in.

"It's Isha, and you pronounce the I like an E," Isha mentioned casually, as if she had explained it countless times before.

"Oh, my bad, E-sha! I thought I got it right," Shanelle apologized with a smile.

"Oh yes, I correct people all the time! I'm sorry, I didn't realize you said it correctly. Totally my mistake!" Isha chuckled.

"Absolutely, no worries! If it's alright, I'd love to get past you and into that room to grab my things," Shanelle requested politely.

"Of course!" Isha stepped aside graciously, allowing Shanelle to enter the room.

The walls were painted a crisp white, the floor had a stylish grayish hue, and there was a big office desk on one side, with suitcases and bags scattered in the middle, all sporting little white tags.

Shanelle approached the desk where a lady with olive skin, short brown hair, and warm hazel eyes was working.

"Oh wow!" Shanelle thought to herself, surprised to see a calm lady amidst all the chaos. She walked up to the desk.

"Hi there! I'm here to collect my bags."

"Please look for them," the lady replied in a very strict tone, making Shanelle flinch a bit.

"Alright..." she said softly and ventured to the middle of the room, searching for her bags, which had some yellow paint stains for easy identification.

She found her two suitcases and a backpack since her under-vest bag was already with her. Shanelle returned to the desk.

"Thanks so much!" Royalty would have smiled at the desk lady's firm response that remained unchanging. "Could you please tell me how to get to the bus?"

"Just head back the way you came and ask someone else about that," she replied firmly.

"Okay then, see ya!" Shanelle eyed her before turning to leave, only to bump into Isha right as she opened the door.

"Oh, hey! I'm still here. If you're looking for the bus, I can help! I know exactly where it is! Did you know that the bus driver has a family of… grapes… or… Oreos…?" Shanelle couldn't help but chuckle, following Isha as she enthusiastically continued sharing her colorful thoughts.
