Chapter 282 - Final Chapter 281 : Yu Xie

As time slowly passed, Eula had no idea how long she had slept.

She only knew that when she woke up, the familiar sight of the little house greeted her.

In this small house, she had reminisced over and over again about her past with Yu Xie.

The human mind is sometimes unreliable—no matter how much you wish to hold onto certain memories, time wears them down, gradually blurring even the most precious ones.

That's why Eula made it a habit to recall them every day, carefully revisiting every detail.

She sat up from the bed, feeling well-rested.

It had been a long time since she had slept so comfortably.

At this moment, however, Yu Xie was nowhere to be seen.

Eula got out of bed and stepped outside.

The sky was still dark, but dawn was not far off.

A gentle breeze greeted her, carrying a slight chill, yet it felt refreshing.

"Yu Xie?" Eula called out tentatively.

"I'm here, Eula," Yu Xie's voice came from nearby.

Following the sound, Eula turned to see him approaching slowly.

At that very moment, the first light of dawn broke through the darkness and the clouds, shining down upon Yu Xie, illuminating him—and reflecting in Eula's eyes.

Yu Xie seemed to be stepping through the dawn's first light as he approached.

Eula was momentarily stunned before she slowly spoke, "Where did you go?"

"I went for a walk nearby, let the wind clear my mind, and thought about some things." Yu Xie stopped in front of her.

"What were you thinking about?" Eula asked. "Can I help?"

Yu Xie smiled slightly. "It's nothing much, really—just about myself."

After a brief pause, he continued, "I may not remember what happened to me in the past, but the traces I left behind won't disappear. If possible, I want to visit the places my past self once went, search for the remnants I left behind, and write down my experiences. Maybe I could submit them to Inazuma's Yae Publishing House—who knows, it might even become a bestseller."

Hearing Yu Xie's words, Eula suddenly fell silent.

The dawn's light bathed Eula's face, and a faint smile graced her lips.

Yet within that smile, countless complex emotions seemed to linger.

"So… you won't be staying in Mondstadt forever, will you?" After a long hesitation, Eula finally spoke.

She had already expected this.

She knew that Yu Xie wouldn't remain in Mondstadt forever.

But now that the moment had truly arrived, she found that her feelings weren't so easily controlled.

"I'll come back," Yu Xie said with a smile, reaching out to gently pat Eula's head.

"Just like I did this time."

Yes, he would come back—just like this time.

She had waited for him once; why should she fear waiting again?

"Mm!" Eula nodded firmly, smiling slightly.

"Next time, when I'm ready, I'll go with you."

..........

The sky grew ever brighter, and the mist in the mountains gradually dispersed, signaling the beginning of a new day.

Yu Xie lifted his head toward the sky.

The light was becoming a bit dazzling, so he raised a hand to shield his eyes, letting the sunlight filter through the gaps between his fingers and onto his face.

For most people, a journey has an endpoint.

But Yu Xie was different.

From the moment he arrived in Teyvat, the rest of his life would be a continuous journey.

He understood this well, and he did not reject it.

However, he had too many debts to repay.

Now… he wanted to settle them, one by one, as best he could.

Perhaps he could never truly make up for all those years of waiting, but he had to try.

He could not run away.

"To hold your hand and grow old together… Yu Xie… someone once said that about my name, didn't they?" Yu Xie murmured to himself.

"Strange… who was it that said that?"

Author Note :

This book ends here. It is time for it to come to a close.

There is a sense of regret and helplessness, but more than anything, I want to express my deepest gratitude once again to all my readers.

Without you, many things would have been much, much more difficult.

The ending came a little late and somewhat rushed—I sincerely hope you won't hold it against me.

To be honest, the success of this book has far exceeded my expectations.

Having so many readers willing to follow along as I write is something I am truly grateful for.

As I mentioned before, I am just a small-time author who gained attention because of Genshin Impact, and I am deeply honored by your support.

This journey ends here, but a new one is about to begin.

Through this experience, I've realized that my current skill level may not be enough to properly handle the pacing of a long-form story.

So for my next book, I plan to keep it within 200,000 to 300,000 words, or maybe even less, to ensure a tighter narrative and better quality.

As for the new book, I already have an idea in mind, and if all goes well, I will start writing in the next few days. It will still be a Genshin Impact fanfiction.

However… I can't promise daily updates this time.

Finally, once again, and once again—thank you all for your support! (presses hands together in gratitude) See you in the next book!
