Chapter 122 - Initial Strike

On the path through the mountains, three miles away from the mountain lab, the space trembled as a warp gate opened up and a red Ferrari shot out of it, closing right after.

"I still think it's extremely cool we managed to develop the warp gate. Who would have thought teleportation could be discovered so soon", Samuel commended.

"Yeah…it's all thanks to Lisia. Even without my direct request, she is always running multiple programs and research projects. By combining physics principles of Earth with Hexanzan and Nebulaxian technology, she successfully developed a wormhole spark…giving us the ability to create a miniature wormhole anywhere we want without causing any lasting negative effect on the surrounding space. It is a really wonderful discovery…I'm extremely proud", Dr. Michelson said with undisguised pride.

They soon reached the lab and entered through the underground garage tunnel. After parking the car, they made their way up the elevator towards the computer room. "Welcome back", Anthony greeted as the duo entered the room.

"Thank you!" Samuel said as Dr. Michelson quickly moved towards the computer. "Lisia, please replay the last entries and enhance the image", Dr. Michelson requested. "ACKNOWLEDGED! REPLAYING NOW…!" Lisia said as the screen reversed quickly and stopped.

On the screen, it was revealed that a large armada had exited out of a massive wormhole and were currently stationed near one of the moons of Jupiter. A few minutes after their exit, the largest ship, appearing to be the mothership, fired two missiles that were on a steady course for Earth.

"Lisia, please analyze those missiles", Dr. Michelson requested. "ACKNOWLEDGED! ANALYZING…!". "NOTICE! ANALYSIS COMPLETE! THE READINGS SHOW THE TWO MISSILES ARE 'ANTIMATTER MISSILES'!" Lisia reported.

"My God! He is using such disastrous weapons as an initial strike. It seems I underestimated the level of his insanity", Dr. Michelson marveled. "Correct me if I'm wrong but, isn't an antimatter bomb more dangerous than a nuclear bomb?" Samuel asked.

"It is…a little antimatter energy is as dangerous as a nuclear bomb. These two would most likely wipe out one-sixth of the Earth's surface. Depending on how they are initiated, they could be capable of wiping out the entire surface of the planet. That's how dangerous they are", Dr. Michelson explained.

"I believe he has no desire to rule…only to conquer. Mamon will not think twice about wiping out an entire civilization especially if he deems them as beneath him", Anthony commented.

"Lisia…what is the missiles' E.T.A?" Dr. Michelson asked Lisia. "EXPECTED TIME OF ARRIVAL FOR THE ANTIMATTER MISSILES IS THIRTY MINUTES, THE TARGET LOCATION IS SIENNA METROPOLIS…CITY CENTER- CENTRAL PARK!" Lisia reported.

"It just had to be Sienna Metropolis", Samuel sighed after receiving the report. "We need to find a way to stop those missiles before they make contact with the Earth's surface", Dr. Michelson said and they nodded in acknowledgement.

"I believe I have a way to stop the missiles. We just need to get there first", Anthony informed them. "Very well. Suit up both of you! We have just a few minutes to act" the doctor instructed Samuel and Anthony. "Right away!" they both responded and exited the room.

After the duo were fully dressed in their assigned red hued combat suits, they stood before a mounted circular structure. "WARP GATE ONLINE!" Lisia announced as the structure hummed and a contained miniature wormhole opened within it.

"We have just a few minutes before the missiles reach our atmosphere. Good luck!" Dr. Michelson wished them both as they entered the wormhole.

....

The skies above Sienna Metropolis Central Park trembled as the space tore into two, revealing a miniature wormhole. Samuel and Anthony emerged out of the wormhole, ten thousand meters above the ground, fully covered in their combat suits.

Samuel transformed into his Prime Emergence form; his suit changing to match his new form, as they both hovered in the sky.

"Get ready! They are about to enter the upper atmosphere Dr. Michelson warned over the comms. Samuel lifted his head upwards as his eyes constricted, enhancing his eyesight.

"Here they come. Get ready!", Samuel warned as the missiles made their appearance above the clouds traveling at incredible speeds.

Anthony, knowing he had only one shot, raised his hands and focused intensely. Just as the missiles were hundred meters above them, he shouted, "Viennfa-tu-Zorbit!!" The crystal in his forehead lit up slightly, and the missiles gave off a glow as large energy sphere suddenly manifested and surrounded them, trapping them in a suspended state and halting their advance successfully.

"Well done!" Samuel praised as Anthony sighed. He straightened his back as he kept his hands raised, maintaining the sphere indefinitely.

"So, what now? What do we do we them now that we've captured them?" Samuel asked but before Anthony could answer, the trapped missiles started to hum loudly.

"It's not over…it appears to be on a timer. It is still going to detonate", Dr. Michelson warned over the comms after receiving an emergency alert from Lisia. "Can you enhance the sphere?" Samuel asked in alarm.

"Yeah…give me a second", Anthony said as he closed his eyes. After a few seconds, his crystal glowed again as he shouted, "Arman-tu-Zorbit!!" Four more spheres appeared consecutively around the first sphere…one sphere surrounding the next. Once that was done, they all crashed into the first sphere, fusing to it and enhancing its strength ten-fold.

Just as the enhancement was finished, the two missiles detonated, causing a loud ear shattering explosion that caused the very air to tremble.

...…....

Down on the ground, the citizens had all gathered before the stage and the mayor had taken his place behind the podium to deliver his speech. Just as he opened his mouth to speak, a loud boom sounded, followed by a violent shaking of the entire city.

The crowd blew up in panic at the unexpected shock. The present military and police officers quickly took action, trying to get the crowd to follow their instructions to evacuate to safety.

Judging from the sound and the accompanying Earthquake, they feared the possibility of a nuclear strike. They followed protocol, attempting to evacuate the citizens until the all clear was given.
