Chapter 1054 - Knowing When to Smile Isn’t Enough

Watching the guy flip his attitude in a split second, even Ethan had to admit—this bastard had some talent.

Knew when to bow, when to bite. Not bad.

"Let's go," Ethan said casually. "Might as well top off the tank at the service plaza."

"Sure, sure," the man said quickly, forcing a grin. "Follow me. I'll show you the way."

He turned and led the way toward the plaza.

But the moment his back was to them, his expression darkened like a storm cloud.

The group got back in the truck and followed behind.

A few minutes later, they rolled into the service plaza.

Just as the truck crossed into the lot, the main building's doors burst open—and over a hundred people swarmed out, surrounding the vehicle in an instant.

The bearded man who'd been all smiles just seconds ago dropped the act, sneering coldly at them.

"Hmph. So what if you're Awakened? We've got numbers. How many can you kill before we tear you apart?"
