Chase sat down, trying to calm his breathing as he ripped a piece of his leather tunic off, and used the leather to wrap his charred hand.
"There are twelve levels of the world. The highest is what we refer to as the world above."
Chase frowned as he listened.
"I've seen it..."
"What?"
The voice asked.
"How?"
She asked urgently.
"A dream, before Willowmere was attacked, it was empty, except for a large throne of sk-"
"Stop! Do not speak of it, let it forget within your mind. The more you speak and think of concepts outside of this world, the more they can influence you..."
Chase nodded.
"But I cannot be harmed here."
The voice grunted.
"Incorrect, this is where your soul is most vulnerable to attacks, in fact the only reason you have this pocket world at your disposal is because Mother Lilith put the seal on you in the first place."
"That!"
Chase stood up and pointed at the castle.
"Why do I have these seals?"
He asked urgently.
The voice waited, testing his patience.
"I should not be the one to tell you that..."
Chase scowled.
"Why? Because Mother Lilith should be the one to tell me on her death bed? I'm not stupid..."
"Thats-"
"Don't play these stupid games with me, I know why she wants me to go to the underworld, it's to take her place. I know that much at least..."
The voice sighed, as anger built up inside of Chase.
"The seals took decades to build up... They will take decades to break... But as you said, you don't have time for that... But you are already close to breaking the first seal, it is the sight of souls..."
Chase sighed.
"So how do I fully break it?"
The voice sighed back.
"You cannot. Not yet, if you would have listened to my original story you would know why, as Zephyr has said you must be at eight star potential to maybe have a chance of surviving the fracture of the first seal. Do you remember the pain that you felt when Soul Sight activated inside of that mine?"
Chase sat back down.
"Go on then..."
She waited, taking her time to restart the story.
"Well the world above all, stands one layer above the heavens, then the middle layers are the world of the living, some refer to it as the overworld, or the waking world. Then the lowest three are the underworld, first at the top of the other two is the afterlife, or the fields of peace... It is the calmest layer of the underworld where souls go to rest."
Chase looked around, gazing at the tall and deep chasms that stretched out infinitely.
"This is the middle layer, the underworld..."
"Correct... This is hell, or at least a fraction of it. Many worlds lie within this one, as many gods of death rest within this dominion."
Chase looked down, and felt a shiver run through his body.
"You're correct again... That is Tartarus... The worst of the hells, and a place of true terror, where monsters and gods go when they die. It is the prison built underneath hell that is both inaccessible and unexcitable."
He looked around, his breath finally calming down.
"Let me take a guess... There are twelve seals I have to break, and the first is the lowest?"
"Hell no!"
She yelled, and he heard her knock something over which seemed strange inside of a pocket dimension.
"What do you mean?"
Chase asked hiding a laugh.
"The first is the middle most seal, and you must go up before you can go down. It is just how it is... The lowest are your true affinities if you will."
"So I have several affinities?"
"Thirteen if you count your father's lineage..."
Chase's jaw dropped, and arms went limp.
"Thirteen?!"
"Although you already know that your fathers is not compatible with your body, do you know why?"
Chase squinted, and thought about it.
"Because I'm half devil?"
"How do you-"
"Zephyr was muttering something about it in his sleep..."
"Damn that old bastard..."
She let out a deep and exhausted sigh.
"Yes and no, you still carry human traits, but your mother made sure that you wouldn't be able to use your fathers affinity, because its evolutions are too powerful for your mind. She wanted you to focus on evolving your main affinity, as it is the flames of chaos..."
"Flames of chaos..."
He muttered the words, feeling a hint of pride with such a cool name being his own powers.
