Chapter 409 - Chapter 409: The Grand Design

Orochimaru's face was lit up with excitement.

Thanks to the Tsuchigumo clan's secret technique which he had studied from Hotaru, he had finally discovered a material capable of storing chakra.

With this material, chakra could be stockpiled. During battle, whenever a ninja ran out of chakra, they could use this stored supply to replenish their own reserves.

It was basically a power bank—for ninjas.

If one carried enough of it, it'd be like having a miniature Tailed Beast on standby at all times.

And combined with the chakra armor and scientific ninja tools he had developed earlier...

This wasn't just an improvement. It was an evolution in how ninjas fought.

If Konoha had possessed this equipment during the previous Great Ninja Wars, would the other nations have even dared to start them?

"Mirai-kun, your vision is truly ahead of its time. To raise the combat capabilities of the ninja army to this level… it's incredible!"

Faced with Orochimaru's praise, Uchiha Mirai just smiled and shook his head.

"Too small. You're thinking too small."

"Orochimaru, the ninja world is already at peace. The strength of our military forces isn't really the main point anymore."

Orochimaru frowned, puzzled.

"Then why did you have me develop this chakra-storing material?"

Mirai's smile deepened. "To mass-produce Six Paths-level powerhouses."

"What?!"

Orochimaru's eyes widened in shock, and in an instant, the pieces clicked into place in his mind.

Still unsure, he asked,

"Mirai-kun, with our current tech, mass-producing super-Kage-level fighters isn't out of the question. But ascending to Six Paths level requires an enormous amount of chakra."

"Even with this new storage material, gathering enough chakra would be extremely difficult."

Mirai replied calmly, "I've already accounted for that. Haven't you wondered why I promoted chakra cultivation and mental energy training across the entire ninja world?"

"…So that's what it was about." Orochimaru finally understood.

He had been confused before—why had Mirai pushed for everyone with even a little talent to become a ninja? Why were even farmers refining chakra now?

It was all part of the plan.

Given the current population of trained ninja, the total chakra pool across the world was indeed enough to help multiple super-Kage-level ninja ascend to Six Paths level.

But then Orochimaru frowned again.

"Mirai-kun, even if there's enough chakra out there, collecting it would take an unimaginable amount of time."

Going person by person? That would be ridiculously inefficient, almost impossible in practice...

Could Mirai really have overlooked something so obvious?

As he was thinking this, he caught sight of the serene, confident smile on Mirai's face.

In that moment, he understood.

Mirai wouldn't have set this plan in motion without already having a solution.

Excited now, Orochimaru asked, "You've already figured out how to do it, haven't you?"

Mirai chuckled and nodded. "Of course."

"I spent a year searching for Uchiha Hikari for this very reason."

Orochimaru's eyes lit up. "So… Uchiha Hikari has some sort of special ability?"

"That's right," Mirai said. "Her Mangekyō Sharingan has two abilities."

"The first is the ability to place a special mark on someone."

"The second allows her to manipulate the chakra of those bearing her mark—pulling it to any location at will, with no limitations of time or space."

Just that brief explanation was all Orochimaru needed to grasp the full picture.

With such an ability, the issue of gathering chakra was no longer a problem at all.

Mass-producing Six Paths-level fighters was no longer just a dream—it was a tangible, achievable reality.

Only now did Orochimaru realize just how far-reaching Mirai's plans truly were.

This wasn't something he came up with overnight.

He had been laying the groundwork for this for years—one step after another, flawlessly.

The sheer foresight and intellect behind it were terrifying.

Orochimaru couldn't help but say, "Mirai-kun, I've praised you countless times before, but somehow, you still manage to surprise me every single time."

He had always prided himself on his intellect and genius. Few ever earned his full respect.

But Mirai had utterly won him over.

This man—standing at the very summit of the ninja world—was simply terrifying.

No matter how one looked at him, there wasn't a single weakness to be found.

In response to Orochimaru's praise, Mirai just waved a hand lightly.

"Orochimaru, what's the availability of this chakra storage material in the ninja world?"

Orochimaru thought for a moment. "We're not sure yet. We'll need to carry out a thorough survey."

"And we'll also have to run tests to determine how much of the material is needed to store enough chakra for a super-Kage-level ninja to ascend."

Mirai nodded. "Alright. Prepare as much of the material as you can. Once everything on my end is ready, I'll reach out again."

"Yes!"

Orochimaru was equally excited.

Aside from Mirai, he was the primary person responsible for this plan.

And if it succeeded… the sense of accomplishment would be indescribable.

...

After leaving the lab, Uchiha Mirai headed straight to the Hokage Building.

Namikaze Minato, as usual, was sitting behind his desk, lost in thought.

When he saw Mirai enter, his face lit up with a smile.

"Mirai, what brings you here?"

Seeing Minato still so full of drive and determination, Mirai couldn't help but feel a twinge of admiration.

No matter the situation, Minato was always energetic and optimistic.

What a guy.

"Minato, notify the regional leaders across the ninja world. I need to hold a meeting. There's something I need to announce."

"Got it!"

Minato's efficiency was top-tier. In less than thirty minutes, the video conference was up and running.

Mirai spoke without hesitation.

"To prepare for the coming conflict with the Ōtsutsuki clan, I'll be using Tsukimark Reading on the moon to place a special mark on everyone."

"Once marked, I'll be collecting a small portion of each person's chakra daily."

"Inform everyone as soon as possible. The operation begins in three days."

Using Yachihoko without warning could cause mass panic.

So Mirai chose to take three days to inform the world of his plan.

In just three days, he would be ready to create the first man-made Six Paths-level powerhouse.
