Chapter 536 - Hannah’s Bitter Envy

"She pushed me away. Told me I should be with you instead." My jaw clenched. "Said you deserved happiness more than she ever could."

Hannah's expression shifted—shock giving way to something slower, something that looked almost like guilt. "I knew something was wrong," she whispered, her voice hollow with realization.

"This is what you've been hiding all this time." Her gaze locked onto mine, and for the first time, I saw the flicker of something unspoken pass between us—something that felt dangerously like understanding.

Hannah's face paled, her fingers trembling against her lips. "That stupid, self-sacrificing—!" She cut herself off with a sharp exhale, her eyes darting to Yuko before dropping to the ground. "So all this time... she's been hurting because of me?"

"Because of her own damn nobility," I corrected, my voice bitter. "She'd rather suffer in silence than risk making you unhappy."
