Chapter 312 Book 6 Ambushed Part 2
She simultaneously released another chi energy disk from the pendant, this one aimed at Whiplash's chest. The disk struck with a sickening thud, forcing Whiplash to gasp and stumble back, a dark bruise already forming on her sternum.
Suddenly, Li An decided to try and activate her skill, Shadow Steps. She did not know if it would be effective, but she could feel that her agility was fast enough for it to be used.
With a movement of her legs, she suddenly disappears from where she stands.
"She's… gone! She's too fast!" Whiplash hissed, clutching her chest.
"Maintain formation!" Axeman roared, trying to rally his bewildered comrades. He swung his axe again, aiming a wide, sweeping blow designed to catch Li An in its arc.
Li An didn't evade. Instead, she extended her hand, the Dark Jade Pendant humming. This time, she didn't project a disk. She activated a new configuration, focusing on deflection.
