I rubbed my eyes exhaustion wearing at my mind as I looked over the various documents in the room.
"Waxl the Lord of Justice is here." a voice rang out from behind the door to my office.
Gabbri, the secretary who had been pronounced as pure by the Lord of Justice looked smugly at me as I hurried to greet the Lord. She probably seduced him using her looks, She still looks fifteen despite being well over a hundred.
I made my way outside to see a muscular demon with fiery red hair that matched his scales and bronze coloured skin. Blood red eyed stared down at me as I looked up at the Lord of Justice. I quickly bowed my head, not daring to meet his gaze any longer.
"Are the preparations complete?" he asked.
I nodded, still looking down. "The purification will start tonight." I replied.
" Good! The filthy shall finally be purged and only the pure and Just shall remain" he laughed.
"I will take my leave now. Why don't you take the rest of the day off." he said and left before I could tell him that my work day should have ended hours ago.
I dragged my exhausted body through the streets and finally reached my front door. I cursed myself for having a home at the outer edges of the city. Why couldn't I have been born a higher rank, I asked myself.
I heard the screaming start right as I locked my door. I walked into my bedroom and tossed myself onto the bed and closed my eyes.
Avery woke up with a gasp .She breathed heavily, her mind reeling from the revelation. She had to hunt down every single person included in the purge. She rechecked everything hidden in her compartment, and decided to tuck the dagger she got into the supplies. She would have to leave in order to accomplish her goal, but first she had to wrap up everything in town.
Over the next few days she spent her time meticulously planning her departure from the town. She was careful not to alert anyone of her intentions. She spent her working days helping Agatha search for the broach and grew closer with her. The heroes party even invited her to help them with various missions in the area , acting as their guide .
When she wasn't working she was collecting seeds and sprouts, filling Section A with soil and making it livable for the various plants and animals that would be living there in a few months.
She had just finished her preparations when the heroes party invited her to join them for an important mission.
