Hearing Adina's words, Kent was drawn into the danger his unknown accomplishment pulled him into. He immediately realised not everything is a good thing.
"If the entire universe is searching for me, then that means even gods and immortals are aware of me now, and they might even be involved in the search.
If that is the case, then I am fucked."
The realization only made him look at Adina with a more concerned expression. "Are you being chased down by gods, too?"
Adina didn't respond immediately.
She took a few breaths before she started to speak. "I am not being chased by gods. I am running because a Supreme wants my body."
"What?"
Kent looked at Adina, expecting to see a pained look in her eyes. However, all he saw was determination. It was as if she had given in to the pain and was now looking to get out of it.
That is even more traumatizing when one looks at things from a much more neutral perspective.
