The old man and woman entered the immortal cave again, having been summoned.
The last time they saw the sect leader was a year ago, so getting summoned this early was a shock to them.
Mostly, they can go 1,000 years without seeing or hearing from her. However, in just a year, they got to meet her twice, all because of a mortal.
"Sect leader, is everything alright?"
The old man asked.
He and the old woman are the acting sect leader and vice leader while the main sect leader is away. In fact, for much of the sect's history, many disciples came and went without knowing the true sect leader.
She is walking a path that requires her to cultivate ten emotions simultaneously. That is not something that can be achieved while she is focusing elsewhere. So she is always in seclusion.
"Is today the sect disciple selection trial?" she asked.
