Guys, I legit had 3 F's on my progress report. I'm sorry for the shorter chapter and the week and a half of no updates, but Imma also be taking a break for about 3 or 4 weeks to lock in or my dad's gonna fuckin' beat me.
(Vaggie POV)
'What the hell was this?'
I swear, I just went to sleep. Where the hell am I? I look around to see myself being surrounded by a patch of golden grass. Everywhere around me was black, distant white spots glimmered at the peripherals of my vision, but kept running away when I tried to focus on them.
I spun around in circles a few times, trying to chase whatever hung on my peripheral, only stopping myself once I saw two doors in front of me, on my left and right.
Although I wanted to go over to the doors, the grass didn't reach that far and I don't think 1 wing would do the job of 2. If only the doors could come to me–
Before I could even finish my thought, the two doors quickly slid over to me, actually being in my vicinity and me being able to grab them.
I put my hand on the right door first, jiggling the golden doorknob but I just couldn't open it. I was going to give up until I heard something. It was faint, but with my hearing I could identify it clearly as I put my ear to the door and tried to listen as hard as I could.
'Nifty…'
'I hate the way she looks at me…'
'Date…'
'Yeah, a date…'
Was that James?
I hurriedly slammed at the door, "James you dick, get me out of here!" I yelled out, that asshole somehow got me in here and he's gonna somehow get me out, I swear to god.
Unfortunately, I didn't get an answer so I just hit the door one more time and moved onto the left, it surprisingly opened without any resistance to a black void that seemed to stretch endlessly.
I swear when I see James again, I'll beat his ass so hard he won't be able to even get it up anymore.
I step in the door, instantly feeling no gravity and falling down instantly. Although I'm not scared of getting killed since I'm an angel, I'm kinda pissed that my dreams are about him.
Thinking about him all the time wasn't enough, now my dreams have to be around that fucker?
I sighed and totally didn't shake my head clear of a blush as I soon saw the ground approaching me at a high speed.
When I landed on the ground, it didn't kick up any dust, neither did I even feel my impact on the ground. The latter wasn't crazy since exorcist angels like me weren't exactly the "most law of physics abiding things" but the first part was definitely weird.
I looked up and saw a mansion in front of me, the towering grey walls contrasting the rest of the void I was in, its towering spires piercing what I would imagine to be the sky. It had no windows and only a brown door was in front of me.
I lightly pushed it open, hearing no creeks, I decided to step in and… What the hell?
The mansion was actually pretty damn fancy, a red carpet from the door to the staircase in front of me was laid out, as a golden chandelier was illuminating the entire room. On my left and right were 2 doors each, and at the top of the staircase from what I could see was a grand, golden room, not too much unlike what Adam's mansion looked like in Heaven.
I tried to move forward to the big door only for something to interrupt me, or…Someone.
Before my eyes in an instant, James somehow appeared before me but it wasn't him. Instead of the charcoal black skin I know, James was standing there, glasses that I had never seen before on his face while having brown skin and black eyes instead of his usual exotic yellow.
"Howdy!" he said, "I'm James, but you already knew that, didn't you Vaggie?" he winked at me, crossing his arms. "Whatever fortunate it is for you, I can't stay around here for long, old boy out there doesn't even know you're snooping around inside his soul."
Soul? In Heaven we were barely given any knowledge about them, but what was known to me at least was the fact they're imperative for any living being, every single one is different, and any damage done to the soul, no matter how minor, could be fatal. Now this begs the question… How am I in James' soul?
"Look, before I go, let me tell you two pieces of advice:
1. You aren't alone
2. Don't near anything that has golden hair near it, trust me, bad idea."
He said, putting up and down two fingers before he started to walk away up the stairs, every step he took caused a little part of his body to fade away.
"Wait!" I called out to him, holding a hand out, "You… You spoke like you weren't James, or at least not completely him… Who are you?" Regardless of how I came in here, I'd be damned if some random guy was here to kill James.
"Heh, nice question kid, you earned a treat." He said, digging in his now nonexistent pocket to pull out and throw a flashlight at me. "And to answer your question…"
"I'm curiosity."
