Chapter 1 - Prologue: A Life Rewritten

Tom slouched on his worn-out couch, the blue glow of his TV casting shadows across the darkened room. The Pokémon anime played on the screen, showing the climactic battle between Ash's Greninja and Alain's Mega Charizard X. Tom's eyes stayed glued to the screen, even as a deep sense of frustration bubbled inside him, this was the nth time he was watching this. He had always been invested in Ash's journey, but seeing him lose after coming so far left an ache of disappointment.

"It's just unfair, man all that hype of a last attack from greninja for what, for this?" Tom muttered, tossing his empty soda can toward the bin and missing. His frustration wasn't just about Ash losing the Kalos League—it was about what came after that. He had watched every episode, including the heartbreaking one where Ash left Greninja behind to help Zygarde protect Kalos. "Why does Ash always leave his pokemon? And why does he never try get any of his pokemon back?"

Tom sighed, ruffling his already messy hair. His life wasn't much better—a monotonous cycle of college, TV, and sleep. Orphaned at a young age, he had been raised by an uncle who provided financial support but nothing else.

He did have a few friends but what's the use when he did not reach out to them much. Life is just literally and figuratively passing by me,what I mean is it is just non existent I just went with the flow he thought, which left a bitter taste in his mouth.

As the credits rolled, Tom leaned forward, gripping his head in frustration. "Ah shit! Although the whole show is good I just hoped he would not keep leaving his Pokemon, and also Sarena, she showed some interest in the basterd only for this.Well cant really do anything now and it is just an anime." He stopped, shaking his head.

Tom stood up, too stressed seeing Ash's life always losing in the finals or semi finals. But as he turned toward the kitchen, his vision swam, and the room tilted. He stumbled, grabbing at the edge of the couch but missing. Pain erupted as his head collided with the floor, and everything went black.
