Cain traveled most of the way to Mauville City riding on Flygon, trusting that Slowking would identify the psychic coordinates he had previously left along the route to Mauville City.
Eventually, when Slowking sensed the exact point, he was able to teleport them to Mauville City.
From the sky, Cain returned Flygon to its Poké Ball and, during the fall, vanished into the darkness of the night along with Slowking. When they reappeared, they were in a secluded corner of Mauville City.
The last time Cain had visited this city, his goal had been to eliminate small branches of Team Void to earn some money to buy the ingredients for the quality enhancement potion for Marshtomp and Poliwag.
However, this time his objective was far more ambitious: to completely eradicate Team Void.
On this occasion, there was no need to use the League as a pretext. Now, Cain could act openly under the name of Team Heaven, ready to replace Team Void as one of the main forces in the city.
It was likely that the leaders of Team Void were gathered at their headquarters, eagerly awaiting the "good news" from Gibson, the member they had sent to confront Team Heaven.
Although Cain had grown immensely in strength and skill, facing a group of quasi-elite-level leaders alone was still an impossible task. However, he had an advantage: the leaders of Team Void were not a united group.
Heading to one of the secondary Team Void bases he had visited previously, Cain found that the place had somewhat recovered since his last attack.
However, restoring that base had required many resources, as Team Void had always been marginalized by other forces in Mauville City.
The base was now well guarded, but for Cain, that number of guards posed no challenge. The last time, it hadn't taken much effort for him to destroy the place, and now his power was even greater.
Inside the main office of the base, Cain grabbed the strongest officer there—an advanced-level member—by the neck and lifted him off the ground with ease. After all, if he could carry Larvitar without issue, holding a man was a trivial task, especially with the help of his psychic powers.
"Call your superior," Cain ordered coldly. "Make up whatever excuse you want, but get him here."
The man, terrified, didn't dare to disobey. Once Cain released him, he hurried to use his communication device to contact his superior, fabricating an excuse to summon him.
The superior, who was in a meeting at the main headquarters, responded angrily, shouting insults through the communicator. However, the base officer shut off the device and, resigned, focused on pleasing Cain—offering him tea and sitting quietly in a corner, hoping to survive.
Cain didn't judge him for his behavior. At least this man understood his situation and knew how to act to save himself, which made him intelligent.
It wasn't long before the superior arrived at the base, furious—only to be met with a devastating attack from Cain. Though Cain had questions for him, the fight was brief. The base leader had no chance to resist.
Cain's Pokémon, led by Honchkrow and Weavile, enjoyed the battle, thrilled to fight together again after so long. Despite the inferiority of their opponent, Cain didn't underestimate the situation and directed the battle precisely through telepathic communication.
The result was clear: the enemy's Pokémon were mercilessly defeated, and the base leader himself was subdued. After interrogating him, Cain sent him to the alternate space and confiscated his belongings, including several valuable items.
Thanks to the information obtained, Cain discovered that Team Void had eight remaining leaders, all of quasi-elite level. With Gibson already eliminated and another leader captured, only six remained.
Among them, Kainan—whom Cain remembered well—was mid-level, while the strongest was a man named Robert. However, even the most powerful among them posed no significant threat to Cain.
With the help of the base officer, Cain began visiting other Team Void bases in Mauville City, using similar tactics to lure the leaders. In total, he managed to eliminate three more, further reducing Team Void's ranks.
Each victory allowed Cain to obtain valuable resources, as Team Void leaders usually carried all their gear and possessions with them.
Although many Pokémon were severely injured in the battles, some were strong enough to be reused as tools or to train Team Heaven's subordinates.
With only three Team Void leaders remaining, Cain knew they would no longer fall for his traps. It was time to face them directly at their main headquarters.
With the base officer as his guide, Cain headed openly toward Team Void's headquarters. He didn't try to hide his movements, allowing other organizations to detect his actions.
Today, Team Heaven was not only aiming to eliminate Team Void but also to establish itself as a new dominant force in the city.
