Chapter 433 - The Cruel Truth II

(Third Person POV)

Princess Rhaenys was sitting down on a chair when her aunt, Princess Daenerys approached her. The younger princess was holding a small golden flower in her hand as she reached her, a bright smile on her face.

"Oh? Princess..." Rhaenys said, "To what do I owe the pleasure?"

"Here!" Daenerys handed her the rose

"Oh?" Rhaenys said, "F-For me?"

Daenerys nodded, "Yes."

"Thank you." Rhaenys smiled slightly, "I....well....it's beautiful. Is it actual gold?"

"Lord Sylas made it." She told her, "He used his ability. It is quite the pretty process, to watch the flame twist into the form of a flower and suddenly it hardens into actual gold."

"Right...." Rhaenys said as a frown appeared on her face

"Is something wrong, Rhaenys?" Daenerys asked her, "D-Did I do something wrong?"

"No...uhm, not really." Rhaenys lowered the flower down, "Why do you ask?"

"Well...." Daenerys said as she scratched her cheek, "The thing is...you've been avoiding me lately....."

"Avoiding you?" Rhaenys said, "Well, I don't think that is true."

"You can't lie to me...." Daenerys said, "I am not a fool."

"I didn't say that." Rhaenys frowned, "Aunt, I...."

"I know it's strange." Daenerys said, "To have an aunt younger than you."

"Not really, Aunt Gael is also younger." Rhaenys smiled slightly, "This is not strange at all."

"Well, to have an aunt who was resurrected.....that is what is strange, isn't it?" Daenerys said softly, "I know that is what bothers you. And I am sorry....I really didn't think anything like this would happen. I...I was a child...I still am.....my brother, who was younger than me.....your Father, he was also a child....then, the next thing I know.....I am here.....I am still a child while my brothers are grown....and they have children my age or older than me....."

Rhaenys frowned, "Aunt..." She said, "That is...no, I am so sorry for making you feel this way. The thing is...."

"What is it?" Daenerys asked, "Is it something I've done?"

"No." Rhaenys said, "Well I-"

"It's her Mother." A voice said, which caused both of them to jump up

They turned to see Drakken walking up to the two of them, his hands in his pockets.

"D-Drakken...." Rhaenys said as he stopped before them, feeling a bit nervous

"Where is Sylas?" Drakken asked Daenerys

"I...." Daenerys said, "I figured he was with you...."

"No. He isn't...." Drakken said as he looked around, "Oh well. I will look for him."

Rhaenys looked at him, "What do you mean that it is my Mother?" She asked him, "Do you mean Princess Daella-"

"No." Drakken cut her off, giving her a serious look, "I mean Jocelyn Baratheon, the woman who gave birth to you. The thing is.....you look at Daenerys Targaryen, your aunt, and you wonder...'Why is she back from the dead when my Mother is still dead?' And you feel guilty about it. That is why you avoid her....so she doesn't see the guilt in your eyes. It is quite obvious."

Rhaenys looked down, "I....no...that is...."

Daenerys frowned, "Rhaenys...." She said, "Is this true?"

"No..." Rhaenys said, her voice was barely audible, "No, Aunt.....I cannot think that way....."

"You are but a child." Drakken told her, "It is understandable that you would have those thoughts. To want your mother alive is natural. There is no shame in wanting to feel the warmth of her love, Rhaenys. It is completely normal. There is no need to feel guilty..."

"So..." Rhaenys looked at him, "C-can you do it? Can you bring her back? You've.....done it...already....You've brought back Princess Daenerys....even the Tyrant....can you bring back my Mother and my brother?"

Drakken walked up to her and got on one knee, placing his hand on her shoulder as Daenerys stepped to the side.

"Rhaenys." He said seriously, "That is just the thing. Your mother has been alive this whole time. I brought her back two years after she died. She's been with me the entire time....even since before Daella lost her child, your sibling. "

Rhaenys stared at him with her eyes slowly widening, "Eh?"

Drakken's expression did not change. "I had recovered her remains, repaired them, and kept them preserved until I brought her back." He said, "I used her as the first of my subjects when it came to resurrection in this world. She was the first one I've ever brought back from the dead here. And I admit, it was a proper and right choice, haha...."

"What?" Rhaenys said, her voice soft, "M-My Mother is alive."

"Because I am the husband of your aunt, who cares deeply for you...." Drakken said seriously, "I will tell you this harsh truth, Rhaenys. Your Mother has been alive for all this time, but the thing is....she doesn't remember you. She doesn't remember Rhaella.....she doesn't remember Aenys....and she sure as hell doesn't remember her time with Aemon. At this moment, she is my servant....she is a subject of The Trinity....."

"No...." Rhaenys said softly, "You are lying....h-how can that be true? My mother doesn't remember me? Me? Her own daughter?"

"I am not." Drakken stood up, "If you wish to confirm it yourself, I will allow you to tag along with your aunt, Alyssa, when we depart to Harrenhal. She wishes to see your cousins, the Twins. But the thing is....your father is a pain in my ass...so you'll have to let him know...."

"My Mother....." Rhaenys said softly as tears formed in her eyes, "D-Does Father know?"

Drakken gave her a slight smirk, "Oh, yes. He found out a bit ago and he was devastated. Torn within because he genuinely loves Daella." He said, "But if Jocelyn remembered or cared about him? Well.....he learned the hard way, the answer to that question, Rhaenys. I admit, I was a bit cruel to him...but I will not be cruel to you. Jocelyn wishes to meet you two....and I will allow it...."

"Of course, the choice is yours."
