Blood burst out of Achylles' lips, raining down upon Ryuk's face.
He slowly turned his gaze away from his sword to look at his own chest, and there it was.
The enormous sword had pierced exactly through his chest, skewering even his heart, and a Void vortex could be seen, responsible for directing the sword through him.
"Ho…how?"
"You… sho…uld… have… never… bee… see…" he said, collapsing to one knee before Ryuk.
"Even though you morphed yourself into a true shadow, making all attacks, physical or energy, phase through you since technically you're a shadow…"
"Your own weapon was kept solid so you could attack me," Ryuk said, grinning with mockery.
"And talking of me being blind, of course, I can't see. But…"
"Have you forgotten that within you is something of mine?" he asked, watching as Achylles' eyes widened in realization.
"You might not know, but my parts call to me, even in the deepest darkness; they're roaring to break free and return to me."
