Two of the vampires showed up at Jay and Zeke's position, attacking them. Josh froze in place, unable to react to the speed of their attacks.
Zeke was fast enough to keep up with one of the vampires, Jay who was a mage could only evade his attacker because there wasn't time to chant a spell.
"Joshua, use a spell!" Jay yelled.
"I— i don't know how" Josh responded in a mutter. He had been snapped back to focus by the sound of urgency in Jay's voice.
"Do that thing you did before or something!" Jay added.
The only girl among them attacked Josh, attempting to pierce his heart with her fist. Josh's eyes widened, a spark ignited around the vampire and burnt her back. She leapt back and hissed.
"Esmeralda, don't tell me you let that hatchling get the best of you" one of the creatures attacking them jested with a grin on his face.
"Xander don't fuck with me, this is not the time" she breathed heavily, preparing to attack Josh again.
