Chapter 224 - Chapter 223: The Fall of the Council State

In the guild of Nazarick, there were only ever three support class players, but they eventually left the guild.

None of the forty-one Supreme Beings were support classes.

Support classes are difficult to level up in the early stages without assistance, and even getting to level 10 on their own is challenging.

Typically, a support player needs someone else to guide them through the early and mid-game, and after reaching level 20, healing or support roles start to become useful.

At level 40, buffing support classes become more powerful, but by level 60, support classes are no longer very strong.

During this stage, assassins can easily kill support players with one blow.

Support classes essentially become a burden again.

It's not until level 90 that support classes can become battlefield rulers, but by then, most normal players are already at level 100.

So, support players still struggle to be useful unless they find a skilled player to carry them through levels, but the leveling speed is slow, and hardly anyone is willing to be that "big fool" to assist them.

Moreover, support classes are often seen as trash roles in the game, so few people choose them.

As a result, this particular skill remained undiscovered.

The developers intended it as a special bonus for support players, but no one realized it.

They even tried announcing it directly, but who would waste time leveling a class that only serves as a burden? While a few were drawn to it, they were quickly beaten down by the difficulty and gave up.

Peroroncino understood this because the skill's description explained everything.

Even though the official announcement was made, it was forgotten by the players, as support classes were largely ignored.

Bukubukuchagama tried to replicate a similar origin magic by quickly scribbling equations on paper, but after a long time, both Peroroncino and Momonga couldn't understand the formulas, and Bukubukuchagama eventually gave up, unable to construct it.

Combining two super-tier spells was extremely difficult.

And if they tried to split the two spells apart, it would be even harder.

Connecting two spells together was ten times more difficult than fusion.

It was impossible to give up now, and although it might be considered for future research, there was no time to do so at the moment.

Soon, news of the Sorcerer Kingdom's attack spread throughout the entire Council State.

Most of the people weren't ready for battle, but they did make some pre-battle preparations, accelerating their readiness and heading to the battlefield.

Two days later, the two armies met at the magnificent city of the Council State.

The Council State's army consisted mostly of half-dragon legions, with an average level between 20 and 30.

Their numbers were around 500,000.

The half-dragons were the result of Brelaros's transformation of lizardmen through Origin magic, creating a fast-growing and battle-ready race.

The fire lizards in the Council State were an example of these half-dragons.

The rest of the army was composed of various other races.

Upon the encounter, the soldiers of the other races in the Council State visibly faltered.

The battlefield was filled with death knights as far as the eye could see, and the sky was swarming with countless angels, each emitting an extremely terrifying aura.

However, the half-dragon army had no fear; bravery and fearlessness were their natural creed.

The Fire Lizard councilor, leading his personal guard—a squad of 800 fire lizards, each level 40—charged toward the death knight army.

Many half-dragons also fearlessly charged into the ranks of the death knights.

At this moment, the figure of Gargantua appeared behind the death knight army.

Gargantua's hands dug into the ground, directly unearthing a massive stone.

He lifted the boulder and hurled it at the city gate, crushing it entirely.

Countless soldiers of the Council State were killed or wounded.

From the rubble, the half-dragons emerged, fearlessly charging toward the death knight army.

"For war we were born, and we will fight until death!" the fire lizard leader shouted.

"For war we were born, and we will fight until death!" the fire lizard squad echoed in unison.

The overwhelming roar stunned the soldiers of other races who had been thinking of retreating, causing them to stop in their tracks.

The fire lizards engaged in battle with the death knights, exchanging blows back and forth.

Due to the death knights' large size, their numerical advantage was hard to fully utilize, whereas the fire lizards usually surrounded one death knight with several of their own.

The fire lizard general charged into the death knight army alone, taking down one death knight with three strikes.

These death knights were mass-produced, so their individual combat strength was not particularly outstanding.

They were at a disadvantage when facing the fire lizards.

However, the angels in the sky descended, flying towards the lizardmen.

Even the fire lizard general felt the terrifying aura of the angels.

Despite this, he picked up his weapon, knowing that the angels were strong, but he would never retreat.

But just as the angels swung their swords, they disappeared.

At the back of the death knight army, observing the battle, Peroroncino watched as the angel army vanished and shook his head helplessly.

The angel army was indeed powerful, but they could only exist for 12 hours, and this was the third time Peroroncino had summoned them.

"Forget it, I'll summon something weaker," he muttered.

"Summon! Angel Legion!"

Tens of thousands of Archangel Flame descended.

These archangels were the same ones that had been summoned by the Sunlight Scripture Nigun with the Magic Sealing Crystal.

They were very large and appeared imposing, but their combat strength was quite ordinary, Their level was 50.

As soon as these angels appeared, soldiers from other races began to flee.

It was common knowledge that the larger and more imposing something was, the stronger it must be.

With so many giant angels floating in the sky, those who had paused their retreat now began fleeing once again.

The fire lizards, charging too recklessly, became disconnected from the half-dragons behind them, and were surrounded by the death knights.

The half-dragons on the outskirts, some of which were around level 45, found it difficult to break through the death knights' strong defenses.

Breaking through the defensive line was nothing short of wishful thinking.

With the overwhelming numbers of the death knights, the half-dragon army was gradually being surrounded.

In the sky, beams of holy light from the Archangel Flame rained down, relentlessly bombarding the ground.

The targeted areas were primarily where the fire lizards and half-dragons were concentrated.

Under the relentless bombardment of tens of thousands of Archangel Flame, half of the fifty thousand half-dragon soldiers had already perished.

Out of the original 800 fire lizards, only 100 remained.

The fallen fire lizards and half-dragons, corrupted by the death aura emanating from the countless death knights, were immediately turned into undead upon death, rising to attack their former comrades.

Before long, the Archangel Flame and death knights had completely wiped out the fire lizards and half-dragons.

The army continued its relentless march forward.

During this time, the Council State failed to organize any meaningful counterattack, and the undead forces advanced unopposed, steamrolling everything in their path.

Brelaros remained utterly indifferent to the situation.

In his view, it was time for the Council State to fall and be rebuilt.

Brelaros was a creator at heart.

Building a nation from scratch gave him an immense sense of satisfaction—or rather, a sense of challenge.

He thrived on challenges, always opting for the most difficult path.

If there were no obstacles, he would create them himself.

He simply enjoyed conquering the impossible.

He had no intention of intervening until the entire nation was utterly destroyed.

Until then, everyone in the Council State could just die.

As a ruler, Brelaros cared nothing for the lives of his subordinates.

The only thing that mattered to him was his own satisfaction.

With his strength already pushed to the limit, ruling and shaping a nation had become his new game.

In his eyes, the destruction of the Council State was merely another game—a simple reset, a wiped save file.

Soon, the death knights and Archangel Flame army had completely swept across the Council State.

The people of the Council State were utterly incapable of resisting the Death Knights and Archangel Flame.

Occasionally, a few individuals put up futile resistance, but they were swiftly eliminated by the level-80 reconnaissance-type monsters, the Hanzo.

While the Hanzos weren't particularly powerful in combat, their overwhelming numbers made them more than sufficient to take down level-85 units with ease.

The Council State had fallen.

Peroroncino couldn't help but feel puzzled by the absence of the Platinum Dragon Lord.

That righteous figure, always preaching about maintaining world peace, failing to show up at such a critical moment was truly baffling.

However, Peroroncino quickly recalled that the Platinum Dragon Lord was known for staying hidden in his armored form, never exposing his true body—perhaps out of fear of death.

It made sense that he would choose to run away.

Peroroncino, Momonga, and Bukubukuchagama, along with the Guardians, arrived at the Dragon Tower of the Council State.

"This Dragon Tower is truly magnificent!" Peroroncino marveled.

A lone figure appeared at the top of the Dragon Tower.

"I've been expecting you all," Brelaros said, his gaze sweeping across the three players and their accompanying Guardians.

The numbers were exactly as Brelaros had anticipated.

Peroroncino, Momonga, Bukubukuchagama, Shalltear, Cocytus, Demiurge, Aura, Mare, Sebas, and Pandora's Actor—excluding Gargantua, there were exactly ten of them.

"Take down the caster first!" Brelaros shouted.

In an instant, he teleported straight toward Momonga, thrusting his spear directly at the massive gemstone embedded in Momonga's chest—the Fly King Gem, a World-Class Item.

In Momonga's mind, the weapon should have shattered upon impact. After all, weapons below World-Class could not forcibly clash with World-Class Items without breaking.

But the anticipated outcome didn't occur.

Brelaros' Overlord Spear remained completely intact.

"A World-Class Weapon!?" Momonga exclaimed in disbelief.

There were only ten World-Class Weapons in existence, making them even rarer than Divine-Class Items.

The exact methods for obtaining them remained a mystery, even to Nazarick's members, simply because they were far too rare.

The group had already confirmed that the person before them was a player, and not just any player, but one who had somehow become a World-Class Boss.

The overwhelming aura radiating from Brelaros was something only a World-Class Boss could possess.

As for why a player could become such a boss, none of them had any clue.

"Accelerate Thought!"

"Reflexive Evasion!" (Allows for extremely fast reaction to attacks.)

"Guided Acceleration!" (Reduces magic casting time.)

Peroroncino immediately applied three support buffs to himself.

"Holy Spirit Shield!"

Peroroncino cast a defensive spell on Momonga, instantly repelling Brelearos, who was about to continue his assault.

"A level-100 support class? Interesting! You've achieved what I couldn't! You're better than me, and for that—you must die! No one can surpass me!"

It was clear that Brelearos had identified Peroroncino as a support character.

Someone like Brelearos, obsessed with being number one, could never tolerate being outdone.

He had once tried to level a support class to 100 himself but ultimately failed.

Being a lone wolf, he was repeatedly overwhelmed by monsters, beaten down, and humiliated.

In his mind, it was simply impossible for anyone to max out a support class.

Most support players were hybrids, partially leaning into offensive mage builds rather than being pure support.

In reality, no one had ever successfully achieved this, but Brelaros had misunderstood Peroroncino.

"Dragon Piercer!"

With blinding speed, Brelaros lunged at Peroroncino with his spear.

Even Shalltear, who was the closest to Peroroncino, couldn't react in time.

However, thanks to the buffs, Peroroncino's reflexes were heightened, and he managed to respond just in time.

"Blink!"

Peroroncino teleported far away in an instant.

But in the next second, the spear's tip was once again less than ten meters away from him.

"Blink!"

The two began a high-speed chase, flickering across the sky.

Peroroncino relied on his teleportation magic, while Brelaros relied purely on raw speed.

Their figures danced like flashes of light, each movement leaving behind streaks of energy in the air.

Shalltear flew through the air, trying desperately to catch up with Brelaros, but no matter how hard she tried, she couldn't close the gap.

All she could do was watch his back fade into the distance.

Brelaros, as a level-120 World-Class Boss, had a speed stat exceeding 100,000—more than double that of Peroroncino, the Jack of All Trades Class who excelled in all aspects.

Peroroncino, however, possessed numerous passive abilities that allowed him to regenerate his mana continuously, making prolonged combat a non-issue for him.

Brelaros, on the other hand, had limited stamina.

As an experienced player, Brelaros understood that while he didn't know exactly how much mana Peroroncino had, this prolonged chase would only wear down his stamina.

Even if he managed to kill Peroroncino, the cost might not be worth it.

Realizing he couldn't deal with Peroroncino immediately, Brelaros shifted his attention to Mare.

Mare stood at a distance, staff in hand, his role as a mage painfully obvious.

With a flash, Brelaros used the same tactic again, lunging toward Mare at an incredible speed.

Sebas and Pandora's Actor shielded Momonga, Cocytus and Aura protected Bukubukuchagama, and Shalltear and Demiurge guarded Peroroncino.

Mare, having no close-combat abilities, was positioned away from the main group.

"What a foolish formation!" Brelaros sneered.

His spear pierced through Mare's chest.

A vivid pinkish-red blood began to seep through Mare's robe.

But there was something unusual.

Mare was wearing a cloak—a cloak Bukubukuchagama had given him during the earlier skirmish when Brelaros and Peroroncino were occupied.

The cloak obscured Mare's form, making it difficult to gauge his physique.

Hidden inside Mare's cloak was Victim.

Bukubukuchagama had discreetly tucked Victim into the cloak and instructed Mare to stand alone at a distance.

It was all part of Bukubukuchagama's plan.

"Group Holy Spirit Shield!"

"Bone Wall!"

"Wall of Faceless Shadows!"

Peroroncino, Momonga, and Bukubukuchagama all simultaneously cast defensive magic.

An earth-shattering explosion followed.

Despite being only level 60, Victim's self-destruction ability unleashed a blast on par with the ultimate ability of a level-120 World-Class Boss.

The sheer force of the explosion tore through the Dragon Tower, causing the top to collapse entirely.

Countless pieces of debris rained down toward the group.

Even though Peroroncino, Momonga, and Bukubukuchagama had cast their strongest defensive spells, the destructive power of Victim's self-destruction shattered their barriers entirely.

The shockwave hurled everyone backward, scattering them across the battlefield amidst the crumbling ruins.
