Buggy managed to free himself from Luffy and stood up.
"Ever since I was born, no one's ever pissed me off as much as that guy," Buggy said, remembering Shanks. "That bastard stole my most precious treasure!! I'll never forgive him!"
He began telling his story about how he and Shanks always fought until one day, while battling a rival pirate crew, he found a treasure map.
Later, while talking with Shanks, he learned that they'd found a Devil Fruit, and their captain said whoever wanted it would have to eat it. But when Buggy realized how valuable a Devil Fruit was, he decided to keep it and sell it instead.
He had planned to fake eating it by switching it with a fake one, then sell the real one and make a fortune. But things didn't go as planned. Right when he was about to leave the ship with the treasure map and the Devil Fruit, thanks to Shanks' interference, he accidentally ate the real fruit and dropped the map into the sea. He almost drowned but was saved by Shanks.
"I swallowed 100 million Belly worth of treasure and can't swim for the rest of my life! Because of him, I'll never be able to get the treasures from the sea floor!" Buggy said bitterly.
"So Shanks saved your life," Luffy said happily, glad to hear something about his Shanks.
"THAT'S NOT WHAT I MEANT!! BECAUSE OF HIM, MY PLANS WERE SET BACK TEN YEARS!! AND SINCE I CAN'T SWIM, I'LL TAKE ALL THE TREASURES ON LAND USING THE POWER OF THE BARA BARA NO MI!! And anyone who dares touch my treasure…" Buggy said, glaring at Nami, who was stealing his loot. "WILL DIE!!"
Buggy flew toward Nami, floating in the air.
"Oh no, he saw me!" Nami said, terrified.
"Did you think I wouldn't notice?! I'll tear you apart!!" Buggy shouted.
Just then, a long arm came flying out from one of the houses and slammed into Buggy, sending both crashing into a building.
"Huh?"
Luffy turned to see where the long arm came from and saw Oliver stepping out in new clothes.
"Hey," Oliver greeted Luffy.
"Oliver! You okay?" Luffy asked.
"Yeah, I'm perfectly fine—and with new clothes," Oliver said cheerfully. "Is he still conscious?"
"I think so," Luffy replied, seeing Buggy push the long arm off him.
Nami sighed in relief that Buggy hadn't reached her.
"Nami! Drop the treasure and get out of here! If you don't, he'll keep chasing you!" Luffy shouted.
"Drop the treasure? No way! Why would I abandon my treasure?" Nami snapped.
"Your treasure?" Buggy said, glaring at her as he got up.
"That's right! I'm a professional thief! The treasures I steal from pirates are mine!" Nami shouted.
"Ah, that makes sense," Luffy said.
"What are you talking about?! Even if you steal my treasure, it's still mine! How could it ever be yours?! Where do you get these ideas?!" Buggy yelled.
"Oh sure, the villain giving moral lessons to the good guy. Those treasures weren't yours to begin with!" Nami said sharply. "I'd never sink as low as letting a pirate lecture me!"
"You're pissing me off! Bara Bara Festival! / Chop-Chop Festival!"
Buggy split his body apart, surrounding Nami and blocking her escape.
"Ha ha ha! You can't save her, rubber boy!" Buggy mocked.
"Damn it! He split his whole body! I can't fight him like this!" Luffy said.
Oliver focused on Buggy's floating body parts, and when one came close, he struck it with Electro, sending electric shocks through all his pieces.
"So the current travels through his separated parts," Oliver noted, watching Buggy scream. "And if I grab one of his pieces and squeeze…"
He grabbed a piece of Buggy and crushed it in his hand, making Buggy scream even louder.
"Luffy!! Your turn!" Oliver shouted.
Seeing the opening, Luffy stretched his arms back.
"Gomu Gomu no... Bazooka! / Gum-Gum Bazooka!"
In an instant, his arms snapped forward, slamming Buggy right in the face and sending him flying into the sky.
'If I fought Luffy right now, I'm sure I couldn't beat him,' Oliver thought.
[Mission Complete]
[Obtained: 15,000,000 Belly and Devil Fruit Gacha Token]
'But this isn't the time to check rewards—what matters is, I finally completed the mission,' Oliver thought happily.
He fixed his gaze on the long-arm pirate.
'First, the island that shouldn't exist, and now Buggy had someone from the Longarm Tribe. What's going on? Are more changes happening? More enemies? Or more nakamas?'
He kept pondering the implications of these changes while Luffy celebrated.
"Awesome! I got the Grand Line map!" Luffy shouted. "So you're officially my navigator now!"
"I'm just helping you out, got it? But sticking with you guys might make me some good money," Nami said, holding Buggy's treasure bag. "Buggy had tons of treasure! My dream of earning 100 million Belly is finally coming true!"
Nami hugged the treasure bag gleefully.
"I'll split the treasure into two sacks so you can help me carry it—it's heavy," Nami said.
"I don't think it's that heavy," Oliver said, helping her divide the treasure.
"Careful, I'm watching you," Nami warned, making sure he didn't pocket anything.
Luffy picked up his hat, which was damaged, and stared at it.
"Is that hat really that important to you?" Nami asked.
"Yeah, but it's fine. I can still wear it! Besides, Buggy already paid for what he did, so I'm satisfied," Luffy said.
He walked over to Zoro and started patting him awake.
"Zoro! Come on, wake up!" Luffy said.
"Huh? You done already?" Zoro asked, getting up.
"It's over. We got the map and the treasure," Luffy said.
"I don't think I can walk yet," Zoro said, still dizzy.
"Of course not, you're both badly hurt. If you could move, you wouldn't be human," Nami said.
"Why'd you include me?" Luffy asked.
"YOU'RE THE LEAST HUMAN ONE HERE!!" Nami yelled.
"As fun as your little argument is, we should tend to Zoro's wound—it's a deep cut," Oliver said, when suddenly they heard footsteps approaching.
"Hey, you there!"
The four turned to see townspeople arriving in groups, carrying tools like weapons.
"We're citizens of this town. Do you know what happened here?" one asked.
"Oh, townspeople! Well, there are still a few pirates around. It's a long story," Nami said.
"We're looking for the one who attacked our mayor," one of them said.
"Oh, that was him," Luffy said, pointing at Oliver.
"What?"
The villagers glared at them furiously.
"Thanks for that, Luffy," Oliver said sarcastically.
"You're welcome," Luffy replied with a grin.
"He wasn't serious," Nami clarified.
"Are you pirates?!" shouted one of the citizens.
"Yeah, we're pirates," Luffy answered, making Nami freeze in shock.
"Ha ha ha," Zoro laughed despite the pain.
"YOU IDIOT!!" Nami yelled.
"But it's true," Luffy said.
Oliver hoisted Zoro onto his back, and they all ran off, chased by the angry villagers.
"WHY DO YOU HAVE TO DO EVERYTHING THAT WAY?!" Nami yelled furiously at Luffy.
"It's a good town," Luffy said with a smile.
"Huh?" Nami looked confused.
"They're all trying to avenge their beloved mayor. No matter what we say, they won't change," Luffy said, still running.
"That's a good point—but next time, maybe don't make it worse!" Oliver said, making sure Zoro didn't fall off his back.
They kept running until they reached an alley. The villagers saw them enter and followed—but Shushu blocked their path, refusing to move.
Thanks to Shushu's help, they made it to the port.
"We escaped thanks to Shushu. We didn't need to go through all that," Nami sighed.
"Doesn't matter—we got everything we wanted," Luffy said happily.
"True," Nami admitted.
"Hey Zoro, how are you?" Oliver asked.
"A little better," Zoro replied.
"That's good. Still, we should do something about that wound," Oliver said, wondering if he should spend money on Talents to heal it.
"Is this your boat?" he asked Nami. "Not bad."
"It's nothing special. It used to belong to some dumb pirates," Nami said.
Then, three pirates came out of the boat, ready to attack.
"We knew you'd come back here."
"Finding the ship at this port was quite the surprise."
"Forgot about us already?"
The three glared at them, then noticed Oliver.
"Leave," Oliver said coldly.
They ran off immediately, remembering the beating they'd gotten from Oliver and Zoro.
"What just happened?" Nami asked.
"Nothing," Oliver said.
They loaded the treasure, bandaged Zoro, and prepared to set sail. Just before they left shore, the mayor arrived, out of breath.
"HEY, KIDS!! WAIT A SECOND!" Boodle shouted.
"Oh, the mayor," Luffy said.
'I was ready to risk my life. Even if I'd died, I would've been at peace,' Boodle thought. "I'M SORRY! I OWE YOU ALL!!"
They smiled and sailed away from the coast.
"DON'T WORRY ABOUT IT! WE'RE OFF!" Luffy shouted back.
As they sailed, Nami noticed one treasure bag was missing.
"Hey Luffy, where's the other bag?" Nami asked.
"I left it in the city," Luffy said with a grin.
"WHAT?! YOU LEFT THE TREASURES THERE?! HALF OF IT?! THAT WAS OVER FIVE MILLION BELLY!!" Nami yelled furiously—it was way too much money.
"Yeah, but they'll need it to rebuild the city, right?" Luffy said.
"BUT THAT WAS MINE!!" Nami screamed, grabbing Luffy's head and trying to drown him.
"Stop, stop! I can't swim! If you want it so bad, why don't you go back for it?!" Luffy shouted.
"How could I go back, idiot?! IF YOU EVER DO THAT AGAIN, I'LL KILL YOU!!" Nami screamed, furious.
"Ha ha ha ha!" Zoro laughed at the scene—it was hilarious to him.
"Hehehehe," Nami giggled too.
"Now why are you laughing?" Luffy asked, confused.
"SHUT UP!!" Nami yelled again.
And with their new nakama, they set sail toward the next island.
