Anning went to the city, not to find accommodation but directly to the police station.
At the entrance of the police station, Anning was stopped by someone.
The person who stopped her was a young police officer: "Miss, what are you here for?"
Anning sized up the officer: "I'm here to report a case."
"Come with me."
The officer led her inside, through a long corridor, and into a spacious room.
Several officers in uniform sat in the room, and upon seeing Anning enter, everyone felt as if the room brightened considerably.
"Sit."
The officer who brought Anning in pulled out a chair for her to sit and called two other officers over: "This lady says she wants to report a case, you two help take notes."
Anning nodded to the two officers.
She glanced at them; one male and one female officer, each had a name badge around their necks, the male officer was named Yu Jiang and the female officer was named Wang Min.
