The Dark Elves did not choose to set up camp outside; instead, they opted to stand guard by the towering city walls.
Ye Chen's army advanced steadily, finally arriving at the gates of the Dark Elves by the eighth day. What shocked the Great Master of the Elf Clan was that the opponent did not set up camp outside the city gates. They did not prepare for battle at the gates but rather sheltered within the city.
"Mr. Ye, it's strange, why don't they come out to fight us?" the Great Master asked in confusion.
"Why should they come out to fight me?" Ye Chen replied with a chuckle. "Isn't it good enough for them to guard the gates? They have the advantage in numbers, and if they come out to fight us on the plains, what would be the outcome?"
"We would, of course, be defeated!" the Great Master immediately responded.
"Exactly!" Ye Chen laughed heartily. "As long as we lay siege without attacking, they will surrender in ten days!"
