Chapter 26 - The Canyon

The group of five has now set their destination of Igdur, the canyon city. The great Knole river which runs throught the continent before reaching the dwarf kingdom, it reaches the canyon of Igdur. Due to it being at the border of two kingdoms, the Dan and the dwarf kingdom, It has a lot of markets with huge merchant associations. It is also free from the influence of the three kingdom. The city of Igdur is controlled by the Union of merchants with three merchant associations as its heads. Though it is free from the kingdom's influence, it still follows the rules of the kingdoms. Like the banning of mystical creatures trafficking. The trend of having monsters as pets have become a common. Hence the trading of Monsters has become common. Now, as Henry and his companions enter the City, a merchant who was covered in jewellery blocked his path. He started with "Good Sir", He then invited them to have lunch with him. Henry who thought about this suspicious man accepted his invitation on hearing 'lunch'. Even though he felt suspicious he went with him as he provided free food. On the Table of the most luxurious diner in Igdur, The merchant began to show his intentions. He offered Henry to buy Night from him. The merchant who saw night, figured that it would sell at a high price as a pet. Hence he approached henry with this offer. Henry for moment, he thought selling night but then refused his offer. On hearing his refusal, the merchant said his goodbye with a smile on his face. Then they left the diner. From there they went to a local inn to find some sleep. On the way they saw a group of soldiers patrolling the area. They were the special soldiers who are assigned to arrest the merchants who do illegal trading of mystical creatures. The next day, They continued with their travel. As they travel they are met with the small problem. They got ambushed. Henry who jumped into the fight without any thought forgot about night. After some slashes, many of the bandits retreated into the mountains. Only then did he realise that some one was missing. Night who was left unattended got kidnapped by the bandits as Henry was focused on fighting the bandits. After realising his carelessness he got furious on himself and the bandits. He then put on his searching goggles. 'detecting life'. He found the path that the bandits took. While asking others to follow with the travel route, he alone ventured into the bandit mountains. Even though they offered to help him he refused saying that they will slow him down.

The terrain was new and dangerous. The retreating bandits were knowledgable of the mountains. Hence they made fast through these tough mountains. Henry with all his might, finally found the bandit hideout, which was deep within the mountains and inside a huge cave. Slowly but stealthly he moved into the camp downing all who saw him. He then followed one to the cages. There were many cages with mystical creatures in them. These bandits seemed to do trafficking of these monsters. Two bandits walked into the room. He moved into the vents. Based on the bandits conversation, Henry figured that night has been brought before the captain of the bandit group. Then he went towards the captains room making no noise. As he listened on the conversation that happened in the room, he figured that there were two people. One among them was the Bandit captain and the other voice seemed to be a bit familiar. They talked about a person who seemed to be their best fighter, Kar. It seems like he was away from the camp. The next thing they talked about was the purchasing of the mysterious black cat. On hearing this Henry got furious. He jumped down the vent and slashed the captains throat. Henry then pointed his sword towards the other person who was in that room. He was the wealthy merchant who earlier tried to buy night from him. With fear in his life, the merchant began to beg for mercy. With a sword to his nape he was in huge fright. As Henry showed no emotions on his face, The merchant realised that he will not be spared, began to change his way of speaking. He talked about his background. He said that he was backed by one of the huge merchant association. He threatened Henry saying that he will pay the price for killing him. Henry who got bored by his talk slashed his throat, finally silencing him. Then he found night who was well asleep in a cage. "You are having a nice sleep huh". As he opened the cage night woke up and brushed against Henry's hand. He then placed night back on his shoulder and.."Captain, Kar has returned." A bandit intruded into the camp to convey the arrival of the best fighter of the camp. There he saw blood everywhere with both the captain's and the merchant's lifeless cold body on the floor. Will Henry escape from this camp. Yeah, he will.
