Chapter 695 - Chapter 339 Conflict

The manager stood upstairs, holding the phone and watching people accumulate downstairs. He dialed the Dock Workers' Union again, but Vaughn was still not there!

"Damn it, he disappears just when I need him. Is all that money we pay every year just to keep this bunch around?"

The manager slammed the receiver down onto the base with force. He paced back and forth by the window, always keeping an eye on the increasing number of workers below.

From his vantage point, he could see even more workers gathering. It had been two years since he had last seen so many dock workers gather during work hours.

He also loathed his subordinates, those idiots. It was just about giving Johnny a new job. Why did it turn into this mess?

Even if there were no suitable positions, couldn't they just raise his salary?

What a waste!

Most of the time, those in power think this way because even a small loss can cause a potentially massive risk, and they feel their subordinates lack flexibility.
