The old woman was comforting her daughter as she looked up at Lance, "Do you have any grudges against each other?"
Lance pursed his lips, "He killed some of my men, seriously injured my brother, and murdered my brother's father."
The old woman found it hard to believe that a professor could do all this, murmuring, "You're all gangsters... this shouldn't..."
She meant to say, isn't this very normal?
Lance didn't argue with her on this point, simply looking into her eyes, "Yes, it is normal. So do you have any other questions about why you're here?"
The old woman didn't know how to answer this question, and she fell silent.
The ringing of the telephone suddenly pierced the air, and Lance neatly folded the newspaper, signaling the professor's daughter to pick up the call.
She took a deep breath, controlled her emotions, and answered the phone. This time she remained silent again but was much stronger.
