In the hospital, Lance met his nominal sister, Rolyn.

Lance was not skilled in judging a lady's age by her appearance, and he felt he might guess wrong, considering some children could look old, and some older folks could appear youthful.
Rolyn looked at Lance warily, and Lance sat down on the chair, "We've probably met before."
