"The reason for not directly visiting the governor is that we need someone to introduce us. The deputy governor is a good choice, and of course, the prosecutor general would work too, but the deputy governor is better. As the governor's deputy, he's quite suitable."
Lance and James listened on silently; these matters were personally arranged by Councilman Williams.
Lance felt reassured by this, as it involved the vital interests of Councilman Williams. Only when interests are highly aligned would he trust the old man.
