The hearts of the expedition members froze, a chill more penetrating than the cold weather immediately surfaced.

Giovanni, as the leader of the expedition, spoke without hesitation to calm the group:
"Yavik, as we move forward, let's get a bit closer over there."
"If it's other explorers in trouble and we are capable, we'll offer some help!"
Giovanni's explanation had substantial flaws logically.
