This middle-aged Archmage confirmed that Ronald had come under Majie'er's orders to pick someone up. But, fundamentally, he couldn't immediately trust this completely unfamiliar young man.
So this inquiry was a test of himself.
Regarding Ormont's distrust behind him, Ronald quickly analyzed it in his mind. Then, as he opened his mouth to answer, his steps did not slow:
