The next day was a weekend, and Su Qingxue finally had some time to rest.
"I have a gathering with my girlfriends today, and you're coming with me!" she ordered Ye Fan.
She looked furious, clearly giving him the cold shoulder. Ye Fan knew he had offended her the previous night, so he had no choice but to go along with her wishes. He was starting to learn that the women of the Divine Land were the most difficult to handle, especially the beautiful ones.
He accompanied Su Qingxue to an entertainment lounge at a cosmetics company. The moment he walked in, Ye Fan felt the urge to sin. The place was teeming with beauties, many of whom were wearing nothing but bikinis.
Laozi, I'm wounded! Internally wounded!
Many of the women turned their gazes toward him. As the only man there, he stuck out like a sore thumb. Of course, these women weren't shy; they deliberately flaunted their impressive assets. Their attitude seemed to say, "I'm this fierce, so get an eyeful. Watch to your heart's content."
Ye Fan swallowed hard.
Under Su Qingxue's icy glare, he managed to restrain himself. Just then, a captivating woman approached. She was elegant and seductive, more delicate than the glacial Su Qingxue. She had an impressive figure, especially her cup size—at least a G-cup, easily. Her curves were stunning, but what truly sealed the deal were her fiery red lips, so deep and enticing they could make a man lose control with a single glance. Her red dress swayed with each step, enough to make any man instantly fall for her—whether he was rich and handsome, an otaku, or a scumbag. She was a true man-killer.
Those terrifying weapons could suffocate me.
She walked up to Su Qingxue and said, "Qingxue, long time no see!"
"Sister Yazhi, how have you been?"
The two women hugged.
"And this is?" the woman asked, looking at Ye Fan.
"He's my bodyguard, Ye Fan," Su Qingxue said quickly, not yet ready to reveal his identity as her fiancé. "This is Luo Yazhi. We all call her Sister Yazhi."
"Hello," Ye Fan said.
"Hello," Luo Yazhi replied.
As they shook hands, Ye Fan caught her scent. It was a fragrance he found incredibly familiar, so much so that he wondered if they had met before. He searched his memory, but his mind drew a blank.
"Are you not feeling well, Mr. Ye?" Luo Yazhi asked with an amused smile.
Ye Fan snapped out of it. "No, no, no. I was just stunned by your beauty."
"Really? Am I that charming?" she chuckled.
"Your charm exceeds my wildest imagination," Ye Fan declared.
"Your bodyguard certainly has a way with words," Luo Yazhi said, still smiling.
Su Qingxue shot Ye Fan a glare. Although their relationship wasn't yet defined, it was unsettling for her to hear him praise another woman's beauty so openly. She forced a laugh and said, "Sister Yazhi, you're just joking."
During the party, Ye Fan went up to the rooftop. Before long, Luo Yazhi joined him. "Mr. Ye, I'm very interested in you," she said.
"I'm interested in you, too," Ye Fan replied with a smile.
Luo Yazhi chuckled. "Qingxue is so beautiful, yet you still have interest in other women. Are all men like that, always looking at what's in the pot while they're still eating from the bowl?"
"I believe that's a man's ultimate goal," Ye Fan said.
"Aren't you afraid Qingxue will hear you?" Luo Yazhi asked.
"I am," Ye Fan replied. "But that's not what I should be worried about. I'm worried about you."
"Why me?" Luo Yazhi asked, puzzled.
He stated, "Because you're the leader of the female assassins who attacked me and Qingxue that night!"
Luo Yazhi's expression flickered for an instant before she calmly replied, "Mr. Ye, you must be joking. I'm just a weak woman. How could I possibly be an assassin? You must have me mistaken for someone else."
"No. I have a knack for reading people. Your scent—or more specifically, your natural body fragrance—is identical to the assassin's. It's definitely not perfume. Therefore, you are the assassin leader," Ye Fan said with a sly grin.
Luo Yazhi's tone hardened. "Are you always such a lecherous man, Mr. Ye?"
"This isn't about being lecherous; it's a fact. Stop pretending. Let me rip off that mask of yours right now!"
With that, Ye Fan made his move. He lunged, unleashing a killing blow with blinding speed. But Luo Yazhi simply stood her ground, unmoving. Ye Fan frantically pulled his attack, barely stopping his hand in time. His momentum carried him forward, and he ended up sweeping Luo Yazhi into his arms.
Luo Yazhi smiled. "Trying to steal a bite, Mr. Ye? If your dear Qingxue saw this, she would never forgive you."
"Don't play dumb. Don't think for a second I don't know what you're plotting. And another thing: do not provoke me. Since you know I'm the King of Heaven, you should know the price for doing so," Ye Fan warned in a cold voice.
Luo Yazhi, however, just feigned confusion. "You look so scary when you're angry, Mr. Ye. And what in the world is a 'King of Heaven'?"
"You…!" Ye Fan growled.
At this point, Luo Yazhi turned the tables on him. "Does Mr. Ye plan to hold me like this all day?"
Ye Fan quickly released her. "If I find out you've done anything to harm Qingxue, I will kill you," he threatened.
But Luo Yazhi just smiled. "I'm just a decent woman. The most I might do is stir a man's heart. Don't pin such violent things on me. It's scary!"
Ye Fan was at a loss. Though they had just met, he knew this woman was anything but simple. He turned and walked away.
As he left, Luo Yazhi's playful expression vanished, replaced by a cold mask. "Our contest has just begun, King of Heaven," she muttered. "We shall see."
That evening, after they returned home, Ye Fan said to Su Qingxue, "Don't get too close to Luo Yazhi."
"Why?" Su Qingxue demanded, her voice laced with confusion and anger. Luo Yazhi was her good friend, after all.
"Because she's not who she seems," Ye Fan explained. "Do you remember that night we went to the night market and were attacked?"
"Does this have something to do with her?" Su Qingxue asked curiously.
"I'm certain she was the leader of the assassins that night, but she hides it incredibly well."
"And on what grounds are you certain?" Su Qingxue pressed, clearly unconvinced. After all, Luo Yazhi was just a defenseless woman. They had known each other for years; how could she not know? Her only fault was a somewhat tarnished reputation because she was just too alluringly beautiful.
"Because their body scent is identical," Ye Fan said.
"Pervert! Shameless!" Su Qingxue spat, refusing to believe his absurd claim.
Great. Being misunderstood like this sucks. It's the truth, I just expressed it poorly. But there's nothing to be done now. It looks like I'm stuck with the labels "pervert" and "creep." Since I can't escape them, I might as well accept it.
