The staff at the police headquarters noticed that Xiu Xin Aoyama, who was late today, was in a very good mood, greeting people with a smile wherever he went. Even when a stray dog that had appeared from nowhere barked at him as he entered, he scooped it up by the back of the neck, rubbed its head while smiling, and then set it down.
The stray dog looked utterly bewildered, stared at Xiu Xin Aoyama for a moment after being put down, let out a couple of tentative barks, turned around twice, and then skulked away.
"Mr. Aoyama, is there some happy news?" Kogoro Yamashita bumped into Xiu Xin Aoyama and asked tentatively.
Xiu Xin Aoyama answered with a smile, "Yes, my sister-in-law is pregnant, more than two months along, I'm very happy."
