The sky was azure, a few white clouds drifting leisurely.
Next door at Chuchu's house, smoke was curling up from the chimney.
The other neighbors in the bungalow, like Mr. Qian and Uncle Tang, being older, generally slept less and were now sitting in front of their houses with bowls and chopsticks, eating and chatting leisurely.
Uncle Tang praised, "Hua Fengmei's daughter is really something, ever since they moved here, she's been getting up early to cook every day."
Mr. Qian, as if wary of something, lowered his voice, "Hua Fengmei is no ordinary person!"
When they first moved here, relying on his status as an old resident, he tried to assert his seniority, but Hua Fengmei didn't give him any face at all.
Uncle Tang sighed, "They used to be from the village. Without a man in the family and such a pretty daughter, if she weren't a bit tough, wouldn't they be bullied terribly?"
Mr. Qian understood and nodded, "That's true."
