Xu Shu looked anxiously and thought for an instant that it was Paimon's child of the Evil God who had appeared again, but upon closer inspection, he realized it was a young mother protecting her child, trapped under a collapsed beam.
The woman's face was full of pain as she stretched out her hand and called to Xu Shu, "Save me... sir, save me..."
Xu Shu ignored the woman calling out to him and headed straight for the Judgement Department, his nerves on edge.
Seconds later, he cursed "Damn" and turned back, helping the woman remove the fallen beam and pulling her out of the rubble.
He didn't bother to respond to the woman's repeated kowtows of gratitude, his eyes unblinkingly fixed ahead as he hastened towards the Judgement Department.
The Judgement Department had also partially collapsed, clearly having been attacked as well.
Cars were entering and exiting, apparently there to pick people up and head towards the city gates; some were ambulances mixed in with the others.
