Generally speaking, a mother animal in lactation won't leave her cubs very far. Moreover, the weasel's lactation period is only about forty-five days. The cubs open their eyes at thirty days old, then grow rapidly, and those born in April can live independently by August.
"Uncle, you live nearby? How come these weasels followed you to the market?"
"His home is right up there at the forest farm, just a twenty-minute walk away."
Someone familiar quickly responded to Chen Ying's question, then looked eagerly at him, seemingly urging him to keep asking.
This left Chen Ying a bit puzzled.
He smiled, ready to continue questioning when a five or six-year-old child came running over, yelling "Grandpa" loudly, squeezing through the crowd to jump onto the old man. The child was wearing a leather hat on his head.
