The alarm went off at the monitoring station in the Tarim River Basin. Just yesterday, more than ten livestock and poultry from a farmer's household were bitten to death, and today, animal carcasses half-eaten were found on both sides of the river.
Experts relevant to the situation were dispatched to investigate, and they immediately concluded that this was the work of a large carnivorous animal.
Based on the bite marks, traces of fur left around, and paw prints, it was easy to determine that this was the work of an adult tiger.
After many years, since the last time Dr. Chen encountered a Xinjiang Tiger, they hadn't found evidence of any other Xinjiang Tigers, and that particular tiger was found near the foot of the Heavenly Mountain later.
But today, this location is still quite a distance from the Heavenly Mountain, which is puzzling because the route from the mountain to here passes several Protection Stations, at least twenty fixed cameras, and numerous infrared cameras.
