He loved his parents. His father wasn't tyrannical given that he was the heir of the family. His father had even tried to reconnect with his siblings but the two simply refused and his father changed completely towards them.
" You rushed here?" Raymond wayatt, Ian's father asked him s hint of amusement in his tone.
Ian's eyes remained emotionless" yes and if it's worth my time, don't bother me again"
Raymond let out a deep chuckle" hard on your old man eh? Don't worry, it's worth your time. Did those little snitches come to your office?"
" Penelope and her daughters"
" She didn't manipulate did she?"
Ian scoffed" why would she? She's not experienced in manipulation. Andrew can do that"
" What did she do?"
" She wanted me to sign a document under the pretense of family charity"
His father let out an amused laugh" she's smart for that one" Ian frowned" what? The shares are family shares anyway. Everyone's contributed to it, it's partly hers she can sue for hoarding of shares and infringement of rights."
" She forged the document and manipulated me. I'm pretty sure I can sue her too. It's family's shares but I'm the head"
Raymond sighed" dumb people. Come this Saturday. We'll see your mother"
Ian's gaze became heavy and he muttered a low" fine"
" I know you miss her. You are just being headstrong. If you want to cry your old man's here" he grinned.
" I don't need it" Ian turned to leave.
" About Andrew" Ian faced his father and Raymond lips curled into a smirk" the old boy is at it again"
" What do you mean?"
" He has a blueprint that C&V automobile company' gave him'" he quoted in the air" and wants to begin construction beginning of October"
" But that's mine"
" I know. When he was asked, he said he got it six month ago on express"
Ian gritted his teeth" bastard"
" He'll use this to bring down your company. Do you know how you will win it over?"
Ian smirked" what am I a business man for?"
Raymond gave the same smirk" what are you planning son?"

" Finally" jewel muttered to herself" the day is over"
She got up, hurriedly took her bag and rushed into the elevator. She got in and the elevator closed. She stared at the pair of eyes as she elevator opened she gasped"sir

" Wait there" Ian ordered and entered the elevator , standing beside her. The elevator closed again and jewel began to feel uncomfortable
" Why s-should I wait s-sir? Everyone has gone home" she murmured
Ian gave a lopsided smile" There's something I want to discuss with you"

The elevator dinged and the two stepped out
"W-what do you want to show me sir?" Jewel asked
"Sit" she obeyed.
The dim light casts a warm glow on the desk piled with paper work.
" What's this?" Ian pointed to the paperwork.
" Ah that's for tomorrow. I'm done for today"
He nodded and casually leaned towards jewel, a playful smirk on his face.
"Sir..."
" I've been thinking" he cut her off" your punishment.."
Heat carrot into her cheeks" w-what do you mean?"
Ian's eyes sparkled with mischief" a challenge"
" Huh?"
" No s deal, an offer"
" But... There's no deal, the only deal..."
" I propose another one"
"O.. okay"
" There's a karaoke dinner a fellow CEO invited me to. I don't like loud spaces and definitely not singing and dancing. Go in place of me"
" Okay? What about Anthony?"
" He has things to take care of"
She nodded thoughtfully" I'll do it. I'm your assistant anyway. When?"
" Three days from now" Ian mused. 'She thinks it's her duty. Hahaha cute'
" Anything I should do?"
" Perform a karaoke"
Jewel froze. She can't sing- no , she won't sing. Her singing ended in highschool. Her voice is great but she's too shy to sing.
"I.. I can't sir"
" Oh really?" He raised a brow" you did sing mesmerizingly well"

" Your forget, miss Langford... I know my employees well"
She bit her lips" but I can't do that sir"
" That's why I'm offering... Sing" he leaned closer" sing for me jewel"
Jewel was a bit confused" you are not going to be there"

Argh it's so hard to sing especially Indo many people.
" I'll do sir" she determined. She'll do anything for himas long as it provides for herself and Kevin.

Again with the duty talk. He grumbled inwardly.
" You don't want me to serenade you with something unforgettable?" He tried again
But she only laughed" you are my boss sir. I can't possibly accept such"
She's so clueless.
"I'm doing it because I want to. Don't think of it as a favor"
" Alright sir".
A soft smile came as quickly as it was gone" good girl. What a good secretary. It's late I'll take you home"
" I can..."
" Again, I want to miss Langford" he was back to being narcissistic. Jewel breathed out and hurried out with her boss.
