Chapter 4 - shadows of the past

Tenchi, the Carnage Lord, stood at the pinnacle of Melidicta, his crimson castle, gazing across the vast expanse of the multiverse. Stars swirled in impossible colors, galaxies spiraled beneath his feet, and the horizon seemed to ripple with raw, untamed energy. Beside him, Xeshia watched silently, her hand gently brushing against his arm, eyes reflecting the kaleidoscope of cosmic power that surrounded them.

A ripple tore through the fabric of space-time. Reality itself quivered as a shadow emerged, coalescing into a figure cloaked in darkness. Its features were hidden, but its presence was heavy enough to make even Tenchi pause.

"Who are you?" Tenchi demanded, hand resting on the hilt of Xeshion, the Anti-Life Sword. His voice was calm, but every fiber of his being radiated readiness.

The figure lifted its head, and piercing eyes gleamed from the shadows, seemingly boring into Tenchi's very soul.

"I am someone who has been waiting for you, Tenchi," the figure said, voice gravelly yet unnerving. "I know your past, your destiny… and the path that lies ahead."

Tenchi's eyes narrowed beneath his hood. "Explain yourself. Are you trying to intimidate me?" His aura flared faintly, a warning that he would not tolerate games.

The figure smiled, a glint of razor-sharp teeth breaking the darkness. "All will be revealed… in due time. But know this: your existence is no accident. You are a key player in a much larger game, one that stretches across the multiverse."

"I am no pawn in anyone's game," Tenchi said firmly, stepping forward, aura expanding like molten crimson energy. "I will humor you for now… but understand this: I answer to no one."

Xeshia's grip tightened on his arm, eyes wide. "What game? Who is this?" Her voice trembled slightly, betraying her unease.

The shadow figure chuckled, a low, sinister sound that echoed through the multiversal winds. "Ah, Xeshia… the stakes you cannot yet comprehend. Soon, you will understand. But for now… patience is required."

From the void, Akira and Sora materialized, drawn by the disturbance. Their gazes fixed on the figure.

"Who is this?" Akira demanded, tension in his voice.

"I'm trying to find that out myself," Tenchi replied, a faint smirk beneath his hood. His aura flared even more, subtle shadows crawling over the ground like living ink.

The figure's eyes glinted, amusement clear. "I know more about you than you realize, Tenchi. Your past… the origins of your power… your destiny. All of it."

Tenchi's crimson gaze sharpened. "What truth? Speak plainly."

The figure's smile widened. "Your birth was foretold, yes… but only a fragment of the prophecy has been revealed. You are meant to rule… not merely survive. The multiverse itself waits for your ascension. But the full path… will only be revealed when the time is right."

Tenchi's mind raced. "So… my birth, the prophecy in Heaven, all of it was only a piece? You're saying I was meant to rule the multiverse as the Ulterversal Overlord?" His aura pulsed as he processed the revelation, a mixture of curiosity and defiance in his eyes.

Before the tension could escalate, Eve appeared, her presence radiating calm authority. Her warm smile belied the immense power that shimmered beneath her form.

"Who are you?" she asked firmly, stepping forward, aura rippling like molten gold.

The shadow figure bowed slightly, respect in its posture. "I have watched over Tenchi… guiding him from the shadows. His journey… is not only his own. It is entwined with the fate of the multiverse."

Eve's eyes narrowed. "And what do you want with him?"

"Only to reveal the truth… at the right time," the figure replied, retreating slowly into the shadows. "Your role, Tenchi… is far greater than you imagine. But for now, prepare. The path you walk will challenge everything you know."

With that, the figure vanished. Tenchi stood silently, mind whirling. Questions swirled like a storm: Who was that? Why only he can rule the multiverse? What part of the prophecy remains hidden?

A sudden parallel communication erupted from his castle. Tenchi's hand instinctively went to Xeshia's arm. The voice was unmistakably Lavis, but it trembled with fear.

"Tenchi… there's… someone in the castle. Claims knowledge of your past. You need to come immediately."

Xeshia's eyes widened. "Answer it!" she urged.

Tenchi's face hardened. "I'll be there. Stay here… Xeshia, Akira, Sora… remain safe."

He turned to Eve, placing a hand on her shoulder. "Mother… I leave them in your care. Protect them."

Eve nodded, her eyes filled with trust and pride. "Go. Discover the truth, Tenchi."

Tenchi rose into the air, crimson energy trailing behind him like a comet. His mind raced with questions, the shadows of uncertainty pressing against his consciousness. Who are these beings? What is their agenda? And what hidden truth of the prophecy awaits me?

A sinister smile crossed his face, lips curling in anticipation. "You all have tried… but I hope you are ready to finish what you started. I am Tenchi, the Carnage Lord. And I will uncover every secret… no matter the cost."

The multiverse seemed to hold its breath as Tenchi soared toward Crimson Villa, the stage set for an epic confrontation that would shake reality itself.
