Chapter 288 - Chapter 288: Moonlit Night Raid

Night fell, and the National Team members each found a room and went to sleep.

Lu Jun, however, remained awake. With his hands behind his back, he stood at the window of his tatami room, gazing slowly outside. His Psychic Sense was constantly scanning the surroundings.

Suddenly, he sensed Mo Fan quietly sneaking out for a stroll. Not long after, a commotion erupted all around. The entire West Tower was stirred into action.

Boom boom boom! From the direction of the East Tower came waves of rumbling.

The defensive barrier expanded into a sky full of lightning. A vast sea of thunder surged over the ocean something from the East China Sea had arrived!

Lu Jun saw the dazzling azure brilliance in the night and immediately understood Baxa had followed them again. But it would retreat shortly.

Under the cover of this massive disturbance, the smaller movements were the ones truly worth noting.

Soon, within his line of sight, the suspension bridge in midair suddenly flickered with magical light. Vines surged upward, throwing several guards off the cliff, where they were obliterated into dust by the thunderous barrier.

The guards of the Twin Guardian Towers reacted quickly, flowing like a river and gathering rapidly while shouting, "A prisoner from the west Pavilion is trying to escape! Stop him!"

The clamor had already awakened the resting National Team members.

Jiang Shaoxu stepped out in a nightgown—thin, silken white gauze outlining her voluptuous, curvaceous figure, an utterly breathtaking sight.

She stretched lazily, full-chested with a perfect curve, and covered her lips as she said, "Ha~ What's going on out here? So noisy."

The other boys came out one after another. Upon seeing this, their previously drowsy and irritable state instantly became clear-headed and tranquil, even swallowing a mouthful of saliva.

The world is so beautiful—how could one bear to ruin it?

They glanced at the other female members of the team, each wearing sleepwear, spring light bathing the courtyard. Only Mu Ningxue, the Ice Queen, walked out wrapped up tightly. The others didn't seem to mind at all.

Just as the National Team members were still confused

Mochizuki Chihaya gracefully walked out of the darkness, her nightgown kimono highlighting her fiery figure.

With the gentle voice unique to Japanese girls, she soothed them, "Apologies for disturbing our esteemed guests. Something happened at the Twin Guardian Pavilions—an oceanic beast attacked, and the prisoners inside were stirred, attempting a coordinated escape from within and without."

"But please rest assured, the Twin Guardian Pavilions are heavily guarded and very powerful. The situation will be resolved shortly."

Hearing this, the National Team members looked at each other and decided to trust her for now.

Sure enough, it didn't take long for the disturbance in the Twin Guardian Pavilions to subside.

The young ones yawned and went back to sleep only, they hadn't noticed that Mo Fan's figure was long gone. They all thought he was still sleeping soundly.

Mochizuki Chihaya's watery eyes locked onto Lu Jun. She retreated slowly and nodded with a smile. "Lu-kun~, sorry for the trouble."

Lu Jun's ears itched from being called that, and his whole body tingled. Japanese girls' coquettish voices were just too much—was she using "kun" as a respectful suffix or calling his name?

It didn't sound any different from calling him "husband."

He curled his lips, too lazy to waste words, and sat back down in the room.

Familiar with the original story, he clearly knew that the commotion just now in the Tower wasn't caused by any prisoner—it was Mochizuki Chihaya's older brother, Kakuta!

Those few grey-blue kikyo vine woods were proof—they were a rare tree species, one root with dual seeds, separately controlled by Mochizuki Chihaya and Iwata.

Iwata was imprisoned in the East Tower used as a prison for a simple reason.

He had "accidentally" discovered the Condensed Evil Bead. But General Takagi of the Twin Guardian Pavilions, who had already treated it as his own, immediately imprisoned him. Over time, Iwata, under the growing influence of the Condensed Evil Bead, succumbed to negative emotions and began to fall into darkness.

Lu Jun rubbed his chin. If this wasn't handled in time and got exploited by the wrong people, then likely another Red Demon would soon be born.

Damn it, these damn Japanese from the Wangyue Clan never learn their lesson. The defensive formation of the East Tower clearly draws out the prisoners' soul essence to condense [Evil Beads], yet they didn't assign anyone to regularly cleanse them.

When something goes wrong, their first instinct is to cover it up. To this day, the entire world still doesn't know that a top-tier demon is hiding within society, completely undetected.

If it weren't for Lingling's father, Cold Hunter King, catching a thread of its trail and seriously injuring the Red Demon, the consequences would've been unimaginable.

"And when they really can't cover it up anymore, it's just a pathetic 'Sumimasen' followed by a deep bow. Disgusting."

Lu Jun sneered, perfectly capturing the character of those little Japanese. The only good news was that he was here. And if a new Red Demon really were to be born, the original Red Demon would likely cross the sea and come over.

The Evil Saint King's position only allowed one to ascend. The First Red Demon wouldn't tolerate any threat to its status, and a little Red Demon would be no more than a nourishing tonic to it.

"Still, if the Red Demon matures too powerfully, things would become even more troublesome."

He shook his head, quietly waiting for the destined one.

In the dead of night, the candle in the room had long since been extinguished.

Lu Jun sat upright in front of the tatami mat, hand resting on his longsword, when suddenly—creak—the window let out a soft sound. A slender figure flashed past and stepped into the room.

In the darkness, the woman let out a soft gasp, seemingly not expecting Lu Jun to still be awake.

Then, as if something clicked in her mind, she let out a quiet laugh. Her silhouette swayed with allure, like a graceful fish, and she suddenly slipped under Lu Jun's arm and crashed straight into his chest.

In an instant, Lu Jun found his arms full of soft, warm flesh. That voluptuous and supple skin could make anyone lose themselves in it.

He froze. Was this kind of service part of the package? These little Japanese sure knew how to play.

Luckily, Lu Jun had eaten meat before and wasn't someone who could be toyed with. Someone who came knocking on his door wouldn't be treated politely. He confidently wrapped his arms around the woman's slender and plump waist, pulling her tightly into his embrace.

Thud! Mmph!

A muffled collision sounded, and the woman groaned softly, her breathing strained.

Lu Jun looked down. In the darkness, he saw a pair of bright, glistening eyes, flushed with a pink hue of shyness.

He immediately called out the visitor's identity and calmly said, "Alright,Mochizuki Chihaya, what's the trick you're playing at?"

At those words,Mochizuki Chihaya was startled. She sighed softly and said in a tender voice, "As expected of Lu-kun, with your intelligence and insight, there's no way my little performance today could have escaped your notice."

"Is that so?"

Lu Jun remained expressionless. With all the earlier commotion,Mochizuki Chihaya had definitely seen the gray-blue kikyo vine whips used by her older brother Iwata, so with her already growing suspicions, she had to confirm it for herself.

But Mochizuki Chihaya hadn't acted. She was afraid of being stopped by someone on the inside.

Like her own father, Wangyue Meiken. Back when Iwata disappeared, he hemmed and hawed, never telling the truth. Naturally, he could no longer earn her trust.

So Mochizuki Chihaya had no choice but to turn to outsiders.

And just at that time, the Kyushu National Team arrived. Lu Jun was powerful and looked particularly trustworthy, so she chose him and had maintained a friendly attitude all along.

Tonight's events only confirmed her judgment and made her move faster.

She hadn't expected, however, that Lu Jun wasn't as upright as he appeared. Feeling his physical response,Mochizuki Chihaya nearly ground her teeth in secret. Uneasy, she wondered if she'd just delivered herself into the jaws of a tiger.

"You bastard…"

She wanted to curse deep down, but on the surface, she remained seductive and charming. She softly revealed all her guesses and motivations, and finally pleaded, "Lu-kun, I hope you can help me."

As she spoke,Mochizuki Chihaya grew increasingly breathless, her body softening into a puddle of water.
