"This isn't over yet!"
Lu Jun let out a cold snort. He had been happily enjoying a cruise trip with two peerless beauties, and yet an Monarch-level creature just had to appear and ruin the entire mood.
Buzz—buzz—buzz!
A strange, transparent brilliance flickered within his eyes. The superiority of his Spiritual Heaven Realm manifested once more. Even while simultaneously casting Water and Curse magic, he still had energy to spare for controlling additional magic systems.
In the next moment, dazzling startracks intertwined around Lu Jun. A constellation pattern took shape—at its center, in the form of a brain, an icy vertical pupil opened.
Physic Element – High-tier Spell: Soul-Dominion · Soul-Grind!
If the first level, Mind Lock, was a brief control technique that did not harm personality or consciousness…
And the second level, Mind Shift, could subtly distort temperament and achieve long-term control without split concentration…
Then the third level, Soul-Grind, was pure, absolute suppression.
It scoured a creature's consciousness clean, leaving behind a blank sheet—like a vegetative state—ready to be reshaped and molded into any personality one desired.
Behind Lu Jun, the brain-pupil constellation shot out a transparent beam of light. Space twisted in its wake, mighty and vast, piercing directly into the eyes of the Mediterranean Grand Serpent.
Hiss—!
The massive serpent, which had been struggling fiercely, suddenly froze in midair. Its cold, vertical pupils dulled into a dim gray. Its enormous face twisted with terror, fangs parting in a silent scream.
Lu Jun closed his eyes and stood unmoving. Jun Yaojin and Lu Mei received his psychic transmission and immediately guarded him at both sides.
Buzz—buzz—buzz.
A three-inch-tall soul separated from his brow, rising into the sky as a streak of light—and plunged straight into the colossal serpent's mind.
Lu Jun felt his vision blur, then stepped directly into the Spirit World of the Mediterranean Serpent King. Darkness and chaos stretched in all directions. At the center coiled a serpentine shadow, its entire form illusory and dim blue, far less solid than his.
When he lowered his gaze to inspect himself, he found that he appeared as a giant spirit deity—shimmering brilliantly, towering above the serpent's soul, silver radiance exuding holy majesty.
"Soul-Grind!"
With a single thought, a terrifying mental storm erupted from his spiritual body. Layer upon layer of murky, transparent brilliance surged outward, crashing violently upon the serpent's soul.
The Serpent wailed in agony, wounds opening across its spiritual body. It tried to leap up and attack the giant spirit above—
But chains of translucent brilliance clattered into existence, crossing the void and latching onto the serpent soul. They wrapped around it tightly, sealing every movement.
Lu Jun unleashed wave after wave of psychic storms, using the most brutal method to pulverize the serpent king's soul.
Meanwhile, outside on the sea, Qian and Kun, the two Ghostfiends, took advantage of the serpent's paralysis. Their wind-scythe sickle and gray-white giant cudgel repeatedly smashed into the enormous serpent body. Wounds deepened again and again as boundless Curse power seeped inside.
That feedback reflected within the Spirit World. In addition to Lu Jun's devastating mindstorms, patches of gray-white petrification and long, dark-greenish scars appeared on the serpent soul's surface.
Time passed—no one knew how long.
The serpent's soul grew weaker and smaller, fading until only a faint shadow remained.
Rip—!
At last, Lu Jun's Spiritual Heaven Realm soul stretched out both hands, seized the serpent soul by its head and tail, and tore forcefully.
A tortured howl resounded. The serpent soul convulsed—and split cleanly in two, shattering into countless threads of dim-blue soul fragments.
Before Lu Jun could make a move, a platinum radiance burst from the neck of his soul-body. It outlined the shape of a White Tiger Pendant and released a powerful suction force.
All the drifting blue soul power gathered into it.
"The White Tiger Pendant?"
Lu Jun was surprised, but considering that the pendant was bound to his soul and touched upon slaughter and soul-harvesting, its manifestation here was not strange.
Moments later, his entire soul vanished from the collapsing void and returned to his physical body.
"Mm—!"
On the ship's deck, Lu Jun held his head; a stabbing pain lingered—the remnant backlash of the serpent king's dying counterattack.
Entering another being's spirit domain to engage in soul combat was unquestionably one of the most dangerous acts possible. Only someone who had reached the Seventh Realm of the Spiritual and wielded Super-tier Physics magic would dare attempt it.
But the results were astonishing.
Far away over the sea, the Mediterranean Grand Serpent's enormous body trembled, then fell powerlessly into the ocean depths. Its life aura dissipated rapidly—it died instantly!
Lu Jun glanced into the White Tiger Pendant. Within the blood-colored marshland, the serpent king's soul essence had condensed into a blazing, dim-blue sun.
A Monarch-level remnant soul—acquired.
Beside it, the remnant soul of the Dark Sword Lord shone in eerie harmony.
The blood world now held two chilling, ghostly suns.
Seeing this, Lu Jun nodded in satisfaction.
"Not bad. A Monarch's corpse is worth some money too."
The cruise passengers erupted in shock and relief. The infamous Mediterranean Serpent King had been slain before their eyes. Their fear faded, replaced by fervent admiration for Lu Jun.
With the serpent's death, Qian and Kun—the twin Ghostfiends—finally dissipated. The two mountain-like black-and-white phantoms vanished from the sea surface.
After this battle, Lu Jun fully understood the amplification of the Seventh Spiritual Realm.
Once he mastered the Super-tier Curse magic, the outcome would be terrifying. Wouldn't a single Super-tier Curse spell be enough to reduce an Monarch to ashes?
After all—Ancestor Zu Xiangtian, with just Super-tier Curse magic and the family's Cursed Vessel Fusion Technique, could unleash combat power surpassing even ordinary Monarch.
Lu Jun's Curse cultivation would not lag far behind.
With the threat of the Serpent Monarch finally dispelled, the passengers on the ship let their tension collapse. Instantly, waves of agonized cries erupted.
During the first volley of venomous water arrows unleashed by the Sea Serpent, most passengers had been struck. Their flesh had been pierced through, poison spread rapidly, and their skin turned a dark jade-green. At this rate, they were clearly doomed.
The captain watched anxiously, yet was completely helpless. The ship's medics had already rushed out and were doing everything they could.
Unfortunately, these healing mages were only of Mid-Tier, and none of them disciples of Parthenon Temple. Their healing capability was worrying; even saving one or two severely injured, dying passengers required all their strength. They could not possibly save the majority.
Worse still, this serpent venom was extraordinarily lethal. If not treated immediately, even the slightest trace would continue spreading, eroding flesh, turning minor wounds into grave ones—and inevitably into death.
A heavy atmosphere of despair spread across the ship. Even though the medics kept consoling the passengers, saying they would try their best, it did little to stop the fear.
Seeing this, Jun Yaojin couldn't bear it. She stepped forward and quietly said to the captain, "I am mage of the Parthenon Temple."
At those words, the captain's eyes shone with wild joy. "Great! As long as you can save the passengers' lives, the merchants backing us will reward you—one million for each person saved!"
Jun Yaojin immediately got to work. She drew her star map and summoned one healing spirit after another, each glowing with vibrant emerald Light. She herself kept casting the Basic-Tier Healing Light, functioning like a full, professional large-scale medical team in emergency rescue.
But what made the captain's heart sink into the abyss was discovering that even a Parthenon healer could not keep up. The injuries caused by Monarch-grade serpent venom were simply too stubborn, too vicious. They required repeated healing—again and again.
