The back of his head felt hot and his vision went black. He slammed headfirst into the city gate, feeling dizzy and seeing stars, his face a bloody mess, blood spraying from his mouth and nose.
His expression carried a strong sense of unwillingness, and he almost spat out the words through gritted teeth.

Turning around, he leaned against the sturdy city wall, his eyes full of fear as he watched the man in the distance rapidly approaching.
