Vic's passionate enthusiasm didn't last very long. When the large door behind him slowly closed, and everything returned to darkness, his fervent heart cooled rapidly, as if drenched by a bucket of cold water, and his steps unconsciously slowed down.

Darkness and emptiness were the most direct sensations here, and every step he took echoed with the sound of chains dragging in this enclosed space.

It felt as if the whole world only consisted of him, yet simultaneously, it felt like he was surrounded by people everywhere.

Vic took a deep breath and whispered to himself, "It's okay," before continuing forward.

Without a light source, he naturally couldn't move as freely as before and had to be cautious with every step.

The half-meter passage wasn't wide or narrow, as long as one was careful, it was perfectly possible to walk steadily to the other side without any worries.

Vic thought as much.

But after taking only a couple of steps, Vic was drenched in cold sweat.
