Chapter 222 - Chapter 221

They would naturally put in the effort. Originally, Lippo had tacitly allowed people to descend to the ground from the outside.

As long as you could overcome the height and the man-eating birds in the sky, there would be no problem. Overcoming these two obstacles would already prove your strength, enough to become a Hunter.

However, thinking of Morin descending from above and encountering those man-eating birds along the way... If something were to happen during the descent or if the aftermath of a fight with the birds impacted the Trap Tower, it would be troublesome.

Outside the Trap Tower, Lippo couldn't cover everything, but he could control the movements inside. To ensure Morin was always under his watchful eye and to make reasonable arrangements, he had gone to great lengths.

"Though other prisoners would face death upon encountering him, their sentences were already over a hundred years, which is almost the same as death." Lippo picked up a bag of chips, munching away.

"Single, double, triple, quintuple..." Lippo silently calculated the paths he had arranged for passing through. "I hope he chooses a single path; that way, I can better manage the situation..."

At the top of the Trap Tower. "Now, let's begin! Please do your best, everyone!" After Mr. Bean announced the time limit, he boarded a blimp and left.

He would return in three days to pick up the qualified candidates among the examinees. Since they couldn't descend from the outside, they had to find the secret to the path down on the ground beneath their feet.

The examinees began searching for hidden doors. Morin glanced at the hidden cameras, unaware that Lippo was worrying over his journey.

"Morin, over here!!" Suddenly, Gon called out to Morin from a distance. "We found five hidden doors here!!" Over there were Kurapika, Leorio, and Killua as well.

"These doors can only be opened once. Once an examinee enters, it locks from below, and the door can't be pushed open again." After Morin arrived, Gon explained,

"In other words, each door can only allow one person through, and the width only permits one person at a time, so everyone must go their separate ways!"

"Killua and I found five doors, and we've each chosen one." He scratched his head, "We don't know what's down there, so we just picked randomly." "Since we're unsure of what we'll encounter, we discussed it..."

Gon sheepishly asked, "Can we borrow your 'Guiding Angel' again?" Yes, when it came to making choices, Gon remembered the tool that had previously given him the right decision.

"Sure." Morin had no objections, as he didn't need it. This tool could probably only be handled by someone like Gon. Well, not absolutely~~

"Thanks!" Gon thanked him, took the tool, and placed it on his left hand, asking, "Mr. Guiding Angel, please tell us which hidden door is most suitable for going down?"

"The five beneath your feet are all suitable." The Guiding Angel replied after starting up. "So, all five hidden doors are fine?" After receiving this answer, everyone's expressions relaxed a bit. "Then, everyone, see you on the ground!!" "Let's part ways here for now." "Well, let's go."

Under Morin's amused gaze, each person stepped on their respective hidden door and descended one after the other. He knew that below was a path requiring five people to proceed. They just happened to land in the same room.

Hmm, a heartfelt farewell one moment, only to meet again the next. Truly the shortest parting in history. Morin stepped forward and onto the last hidden door.

As he looked up, he saw the number of examinees on the field gradually decreasing.

When he noticed Tonpa approaching, the latter pretended not to see Morin and decisively moved away. Morin chuckled and shook his head. With a firm step, his entire body descended into the opening.

---

"Fancy seeing you again, Morin!" Gon and his group greeted Morin with polite yet slightly awkward smiles upon his arrival.

They had been a bit too confident earlier. However, Kurapika and Leorio quietly sighed in relief once Morin joined them. Compared to teaming up with unfamiliar people, Morin was clearly the best choice.

Especially since he was so strong and had so many strange tools. No matter what bizarre challenges they faced, with Morin, nothing would be a problem! They were all confident in this.

This group's path was called the "Decision Path." From here to the end, the five of them had to proceed by the principle of majority rule! At the entrance was an explanation card and a cylindrical table.

On the table were five broken watches, displaying their remaining time and the options of "circle" and "cross" for decisions.

"In this tower, we've prepared several different routes, each with varying conditions," Lippo's voice echoed through the room's speakers.

"This is a Decision Path, where individual opinions won't be considered. Choices must be made by majority rule!"

"In other words, this is a challenging route that requires mutual support. I hope you all strive to work together!" Lippo was meticulously explaining, worried they might not understand.

"Click." As the five put on the watches, a wall on the left slowly rose, revealing a stone door. However, once the wall fully ascended, it wasn't just an empty door.

It was a door with a combination lock, requiring circles and crosses to decide whether to open it. This meant that from now on, all five had to make decisions together.

"Easy, easy, it's definitely circle!" Leorio said confidently. Seeing the five circles displayed on the screen made him even happier.

"Hey! This majority rule path is likely designed to test examinees' teamwork and coordination in an unfamiliar environment with strangers.

But the examiners wouldn't expect that the five of us already know each other and are companions. With our synergy, passing this test is a piece of cake!" Leorio's face started to show a hint of pride.

Kurapika and Gon didn't say anything, but their relaxed and smiling faces were telling.

Indeed, compared to strangers, going through the challenges with companions was a rare fortune, greatly increasing the chances of passing.

Companions, huh? Killua had his head down, pondering something. In the video, Lippo watched Leorio's proud expression and the others' relaxed smiles, letting out a small hum: "Lucky kids."

'If you weren't with Morin, would I need to explain things so thoroughly? Being in the same group as Morin basically guaranteed passing this round of the Hunter Test.'

"Of course, as long as you don't hold him back," Lippo glanced at the screen's corner, at the prepped five-person battleground. Adjusting his glasses, he added, "If three of you mess up, you still won't pass this test. And if that happens, don't blame me..."

Lippo operated with one hand while scooping ice cream into his mouth with the other. "Click." After opening the room door, they faced another choice.

"Left or right?" Leorio pondered, "At this point, we should definitely go left, right?" He moved to press the circle for left.

"No, I think we should choose right," Killua said, hands behind his head. "Huh? Why?! I don't get it. In this situation, isn't left the obvious choice?!" Leorio protested.

"And if I don't choose left now, I'll feel uneasy and uncomfortable."

"Indeed, from a behavioral standpoint, when people are lost, they tend to choose the left path," Kurapika analyzed.

"I've heard that too," Killua nodded.

Leorio looked confused, "Then why choose right?!"

"Because they know most people would pick 'left,' they choose 'right,'" Morin added.

"In their view, if the examiners know about the 'left rule,' they might set tougher challenges on the left path."

"Is it really that complicated?!" Leorio scratched his head and turned to Morin, "Morin, which side do you plan to choose?!"
