Javier, who had just finished his work for the day, looked up while Varrick and the others were tidying up the remaining documents, organizing them into neat stacks for tomorrow's review.
"Hmm?" Javier glanced up, his hand resting on the completed paperwork. "Who is it?"
A voice came from outside the door. "Your Highness. I'm a guard from the Armand estate's main gate. I have something to report."
"Oh… come in." Javier said casually, putting down the paperwork. He remained standing, his hands clasped casually behind his back.
Lorcan stood up, his hand resting on the hilt of his magic sword.
Varrick's hand slipped into his butler coat, while Mahira kept one hand gracefully behind her maid dress, poised and ready.
The grand door opened, and the guard stepped inside. He stood straight, tapped one foot crisply on the floor, placed his fist over his left chest, and bowed his head.
"Your Highness."
