Jax lightly moved me off him and he got up. He began pacing as he listened to whoever was on the other line. I wondered what it was that was making Jax panic this much. He pinched the bridge of his nose, a telling sign that he was feeling overwhelmed.
"Call everyone involved to the conference room. There is no way you can misplace a full grown human being?! And why didn't you say anything sooner!" Jax screamed on the phone. I quickly put on my jacket, buttoning it as quickly as I could. I stood up and walked up to Jax who was still pacing. He put his phone into his pocket and stood in front of me.
"Baby," I called as I held his cheeks. ""You promised that it's going to be us against everyone this time. So don't shut me out. What's going on?"
