Sam finally stepped into the zone of the fifth mission, and the moment he crossed that unseen threshold he knew there was no turning back.

The thought came out flat and steady as his eyes scanned the endless yellow haze that stretched in every direction.
A dense fog clung to the air like a curtain, staining the world with a faint golden glow.
The grass beneath his boots carried a darker shade than what he had seen in the previous zone, almost black at the edges, as though the soil itself had been scorched by judgment.

Sam assumed that, much like the previous missions, the objective would be to reach the end of the zone.
