Chapter 176 - Chapter 176

Watching the cub's back, Cheng Mo's mouth twitched. This little one was definitely the most attached to the little female.

He immediately followed after.

At the same time, Si Lu and Bai Di were flipping over rocks, searching for seafood.

They'd only found some small crabs and a few abalones so far.

Even though they were tiny, Bai Di still collected all of them.

After all, even a mosquito is still meat.

And these were rare finds—of course, they had to bring them back.

Then Si Lu spotted something else—sea cucumbers!

Surprisingly plump ones, too.

If those were cooked into porridge or soup, the nutrients would be off the charts! Just like abalone—super nutritious.

Si Lu told Bai Di to pack them up, too.

There were plenty of sea creatures he didn't recognize, but as long as Si Lu told him to collect them, he did so without asking questions.

In his eyes, her knowledge of food was sacred. Whatever she said went.

No need to ask too much.

Just then, little Chengyu waddled over to them. Tilting his head, he watched with bright, curious eyes as the two adults dug around in the rocks, grabbing things and tossing them into a nearby animal skin bag.

His curiosity got the best of him, and he started mimicking them. Of course, he didn't recognize most of what they picked up, and he was too nervous to grab unfamiliar things. So he just stuck to copying his mom and Bai Di.

Eventually, he followed a big crab and started playing with it. Typical cub—playful and carefree.

Si Lu and the others didn't mind, as long as the cub was happy.

But what they didn't notice was that, on the edge of a slightly elevated cliff in the distance, a snow-white falcon was perched.

Its pristine feathers were dotted with ink-black specks, stunning and unique.

Its sharp eyes tracked every single move Si Lu and the others made.

Truth be told, the moment they'd arrived, the falcon had spotted them and immediately recognized the beautiful little female—Si Lu.

The most beautiful female he'd ever seen.

He never expected to run into her here again.

That day he first saw her, he couldn't help staring. She was just so beautiful. But she misunderstood his gaze as hostile. He hadn't been glaring! He was just admiring her beauty.

Since then, he often flew to the coastal edge of the forest, hoping to catch another glimpse of her—but never did.

Eventually, he gave up. But today, while resting nearby, he saw her again.

The excitement hit him hard. But... he didn't dare approach.

After all, the little female didn't seem to like him.

Otherwise, she wouldn't have reacted the way she did last time.

He had wanted to explain back then, but with so many orcs around, his pride wouldn't let him.

He was the sky's overlord, after all.

Apologizing in private was one thing. Doing it in front of others? No way.

Still, once he spotted Si Lu, his gaze never left her.

He watched her flip over rocks, eyes lighting up as she discovered various sea creatures. She was so happy.

So, she liked these things?

Then why not catch some as an apology?

Even though the situation before had been a misunderstanding, it clearly upset her. He felt he should explain—and bring her something as a peace offering.

Catching seafood as a gift felt like a good idea.

Sure, he usually found females kind of troublesome, but in this case, he'd been in the wrong. So it was only right to make it up to her.

Feng Xiu believed he had to show some sincerity.

He was a male orc, after all. He had to show strength—but also responsibility.

He never meant to frighten her, and he definitely wasn't the type to bully a female, especially not one so stunning.

Yep, this plan felt solid.

Then, without hesitation, Feng Xiu flew off—to catch something special for her.

Meanwhile, Si Lu and her group were still foraging.

The animal skin bag Bai Di brought was pretty big, but it was already half full.

Still, Si Lu wasn't done. She was having a blast searching.

"Adi, look! I found another big lobster! Quick, toss it in!" she called excitedly.

Her luck today was insane.

Three large lobsters and one big crab already.

Bai Di had also caught quite a bit. Cheng Mo, meanwhile, had found less—he was more focused on keeping Si Lu and the cubs safe.

Just then, Si Lu suddenly looked up—only to spot something dark falling from the sky straight toward her.

Her face turned pale.

Cheng Mo reacted instantly, wrapping his arm around her waist and pulling her to the side.

Smack!

A large shadow crashed into the ground.

Bai Di rushed over, his eyes full of worry.

"Lulu, are you okay?" he asked.

"I'm fine... but what just happened? Why did a huge fish fall from the sky?" Si Lu pointed at the flopping fish on the sand.

The fish twitched weakly in response. But it was beached—no way it could make it back to water now.

"I don't know," Bai Di said. "But we can take it back and make some soup to nourish your body."

He stepped forward and lifted the nearly 20-kilogram fish into the animal skin bag.

"Okay... Are you sure you're alright?" Cheng Mo asked Si Lu, his voice laced with concern.

Honestly, he'd been scared too.

If that thing had hit her...

It would've been disastrous.

That fish was heavy—and it had fallen from a serious height. The impact would've been brutal.

Wait a second... this was a deep-sea fish. But they were on a shallow beach!

How did a fish like that end up falling from the sky?

Cheng Mo looked up—but saw nothing.

Weird.

"Aiyaya~" Little Chengyu peeked out from behind his dad, worried, but relieved to see his mom was okay.

He had been scared too!

But before anyone could relax, something else shifted.

Cheng Mo and Bai Di suddenly heard a strange sound.

They turned—and saw shadows growing across the beach.

Cheng Mo's face turned serious. He looked up—

And was completely stunned.

The sky was full of fish.

Fish, crustaceans, and other sea creatures were falling from above—rapidly descending like rain.

What the actual—

It was terrifying and surreal.

Si Lu noticed it too, her expression frozen in disbelief.

Bai Di's jaw dropped.

Even little Chengyu looked up, wide-eyed, completely stunned.

"What's happening?!"

"Am I hallucinating?"

"Is this... seafood from the heavens?"

Si Lu stared in shock.

"Move!" Cheng Mo shouted, scooping up the cub and grabbing Si Lu around the waist again, taking off running.

Bai Di snapped out of it and bolted after them.
